20 Chilling Photos that will Force You to Look at the Darker Side of Our Society

Igor Morski, a Polish graphic designer, illustrator and set designer, is a well-known artist for exploring the not so subtle horrors of modern society through his controversial illustrations. In the below thought-provoking photo series System Failure, he makes you think: Is the earth a scary place, or have we become too dangerous for the planet? Is the technology bringing us closer or have we become too ‘smart’; addictive and therefore distinct from each other? Are we actually living our dreams, or are we killing ourselves trying to meet other people’s expectations? Are we succumbing to outer beauty and fads than our inner calling and beliefs? Are we emotionally connected, or are today’s relationships a lie? Are we being humans, or busy being demons…?

Bored Panda observes:

“They might make you uncomfortable, or create that funny feeling in the pit of your stomach, but I would argue that this is probably a good thing, that it suggests the images resonate on a deeper level. Art is supposed to evoke something within us. Morski’s creative expression outlines concepts and ideas in our modern society that perhaps we are not privy to because we’re just ‘so in it’.”

The beauty of these photos is that they are open for interpretation. You can interpret them the way you want, and they will reflect your truth. Here’s our interpretation…

    • I agree. Not thought provoking at all. If anything these pictures just rehash the same themes as other, more thought provoking, pictures. Basically, these are cringe worthy and otherwise try hard attempts at being smart.

  1. Obviously influenced by Dali…an artist of whom was beyond his time in history. Loved the pieces and the realism they portrayed with surrealism art. Outstanding.

    • Its only his or her interpretation. Neither right nor wrong, its their truth. Just like everyone could disagree with your “explanation” but it would still be your truth
“You can interpret them the way you want, and they will reflect your truth. Here’s our interpretation…”

  2. Thank you for sharing. Very interesting to see an artists influence of their environment portrayed through their works especially on topics that they feel matter and are of importance to them.

  3. I believe the artists have done an excellent job. They managed to express their fears and feelings with so much truth and honesty My hat off to their beautiful sincerity of expression ..

  4. Emotions aren’t ‘dying’, go, just read the comments section of any controversial news article online and show me where the over-abundance of calm, reasoned, rational exchange is taking place. No shortage of emotions in the world.

  5. Interesting.
Why do the “this isn’t even worth looking at like, so boring like humanity, lick my feet slaves” people even bother commenting? Why is it important that they tell others how insignificant these pictures are? I thought they were interesting, thanks for sharing.
As others have said, I don’t agree with all of your interpretations, but they were yours so my disagreement means nothing.
As for the the image of people burning the world, I think it would be cool to include something in that photo – an fire below those people, that they cannot see.
    Just a thought 😀

  6. I like it. I think it show us what everyone refuses I see and we all someone to just slap us in the face with truth every once in awhile.

  7. It was good apart from all the misguided misandry. Grow the fuck up and stop generalising people. Shame that a talented artist has such a twisted and ill perspective of gender.

  8. Great art. And if I was given simple the titles of each piece it would have meant much more. Your interpretations were very telling, and I think any that were to be shared should have been those of the artist. They were trying to convey a point, but you kind of muddled that by adding your own twisted view to each piece. No one is superior, for one, and if you believe that you are truly a problem in our society. Not the one with solutions.
Bottom line. You had the opportunity to share someone’s vision and artistic beauty, but instead you soaked it in your own prejudice. It’s distasteful and disrespectful to not only the artist’s vision, but a sizable portion of humanity. Way to go SJW.

  9. Really amazing artwork honestly. I don’t get why others are being so harsh on the pictures when this artist is just speaking their mind with images. Though, it’s weird on the woman are superior thing. I think we women can be better than men and we can do anything a male can do but why is society overdoing it? Why can’t we just be equal and not having one above the other? Just saying.

  10. He is ( Igor) my inspiration for years. I tend to do not analyze it. But… yes, woman are superior thus men is violent and disrespectful toward the life that is born.
