A 21-year-old hacker, known as “Th3Dir3ctorY” in the cyber world, has been sentenced to prison for 20 years after he was found guilty of hacking US government systems and helping ISIS in making a hit list. ISIS had left personnel information on the Internet, threatening the US military, and presenting their ‘hit list’ to the world, in order to promote their mission.
The information of 1,351 US governement and military personnel were hacked. Th3Dir3ctorY, whose name is Ardit Ferizi, has now been jailed for 20 years after being arrested in Malaysia by local police. It is said the US had been tracking him since 2015.
Ferizi entered Malaysia in August 2014 with the intention to complete studies in computer science and forensics in Kuala Lumpur. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Virginia extradited him on “charges of computer hacking and identity theft violations.”
Ardit Ferizi is a Kosovo national who belonged to a hacking secuity group involved in various other major hacking attacks against the US government.
