  1. The Tree of Life, is a classic descriptive term for the central mystical symbol used in the Kabbalah of esoteric Judaism, also known as the 10 Sephirot. Kabbalah, its origin begins with secrets that God revealed to Adam. When read by later generations of Kabbalists, the Torah’s description of the creation in the Book of Genesis reveals mysteries about God himself, the true nature of Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life, as well as the interaction of these supernatural entities with the Serpent which leads to disaster when they eat the forbidden fruit, as recorded in Genesis 3. God, planted the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. Anyone eating the fruit of this tree would gain eternal life. He also planted the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; anyone eating of this tree would die. God warned Adam and Eve not to eat of the evil tree, which they end up doing. God placed a cherubim with a flaming sword to prevent Adam and Eve from eating the fruit of the Tree of Life. They would not live forever. They eventually died, and also their children died.

    Genesis 2:8
The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.

    Genesis 2:9
Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

    Genesis 3:24
So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.
