#OpKillingBay: Anonymous Cyber Attacks Japanese Airports To Protest Dolphin Slaughter

25

The online group of hactivists, trying relentlessly to inspire people from around the world to convince the government of Japan, the town of Taiji and the Wakayama prefecture to stop dolphin slaughter, recently struck down the websites of Narita and Chubu airports – two of the Japan‘s busiest airports – with powerful DDoS attacks and forced them to stay down as part of its campaign against dolphin hunting, a practice that, though controversial, is still legal in Japan.

On October 10, Narita airport’s website became inaccessible for about eight hours from around 2:30 a.m., while at the same time Chubu airport’s website became difficult to access for eight and a half hours. Anonymous had on October 9 warned on Twitter that attacks would be made on Japan’s two main airports and displayed the addresses of Narita and Chubu airports. The October 10-DDoS attacks paralyzed the websites and crashed the servers by sending overwhelming amount of traffic from different networks to the web pages.

Each year, from the September 1 until March, every morning the “fishermen” of Taiji go out in their boats in search of dolphins to slaughter or capture. The dolphins are driven into a cove and the entrance sealed. That’s when the selection process begins. Depending on the species they will select the pretty ones for marine parks where they will live a life of slavery for audience’s entertainment. The rest of the dolphins are brutally slaughtered and sold as meat.

Anonymous worldwide are united for #OpKillingBay and #OpSeaWorld to raise awareness about the cause and to spread the message through information data and reality.

  2. Excellent article, informative. I didn’t heart about Killing Bay until today; but I hope that our efforts will be a decisive success in ending this suffering.

  3. thank you so much for saving our animals!! they have been warned and regardless of their own law, killing anyone or anything for nothing like sharks and their fins! they kill everything that might take their fish, but who are they to say who’s taking who’s fishes. nature gave us this world so we can share it with animals and each other. they are just greedy and need to stop killing for nothing. they might not worship life, but they still have to respect mother nature or they deserve to be shutdown!! if we aren’t too greedy then there’s plenty of resources on this planet!! i respect ppl who help our home and keep it safe, then a rich bitch that got rich by killing and then prohibits poor or normal ppl from survival!!

  4. I really LOVE JAPAN with all my heart, is a unique splendid country, but that dolphin whale shit is a fucking shame that I don’t understand why the fucking stubborn government don’t stop!. Please anonymous don’t forget about the dog-cat massacres in China and South Korea, those are really barbaric and the activists in those countries are needing help!.

  5. I think you guys are attacking the wrong people. Most Japanese people don’t even eat whale meat. you guys need to come down on the Japanese government, not airports. get the people of japan’s attention, if you really want to make some changes. Do any you anons speak Japanese? Also you guys need to do something about Shinsen Abe rewriting part of the Japanese constitution. The Japanese government doesn’t listen to it’s people.

  9. Hello there Anonymous, I have this request.
    Please hack Filipino Government Websites(Philippines)
They are too corrupted and there is no justice for us, Not one single Government Official care to help us.
My Brother was arrested for killing a person even though there is lots of evidence that shows he defended himself from a murderer.
The thing is he died due to a gunshot INSIDE THE PRISON.
The gun is from a Police Officer.
    Please Anonymous help us.
