Osama bin Laden urged Americans to ‘Rise Up’ against Corporations over Climate Change

The slain Al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden wrote a letter urging Americans to support President Barack Obama to fight climate change.

This last letter was part of some 113 documents taken from bin Laden’s room when he was killed in 2011 by U.S. Special Forces in his fortified Abbottabad compound in Pakistan.

All the documents are said to have been translated from Arabic and declassified by U.S. intelligence agencies. The documents were declassified in May 2015, and it is said many of these letters are yet to be released to the public. U.S. officials have decided to release the letters one after the other. This current letter was made public by U.S. intelligence officials on March 1, 2016.

According to some news agencies who have seen the letter on climate change written by Bin Laden, he called on the American people to help their president fight “catastrophic” climate change and “save humanity” from imminent destruction being perpetrated by small cabals (corporations) in the U.S.

The letter is said to be undated and unsigned, but U.S. intelligence officials said based on references to events in the letter, it appeared to have been written shortly after President Obama began his first term in 2009.

To even prove that bin Laden was concerned about climate change issues, Reuters reports that bin Laden had his worries over the highly contested issue in an audio recording released via Al Jazeera network in January 2010. However, this never gained prominence in media outlets in the U.S.

According to U.S. intelligence officials, bin Laden addressed the letter to one Shaykh Mahmud, urging him to spread the news in America as much possible. Apart from the issue of climate change, bin Laden also blamed the 2007-2008 financial crisis in the U.S. on corporate control of capital and corporate lobbyists, and the U.S.-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The late Al-Qaeda leader said the only solution that will save Americans from control of their government, is for the American people to launch “a great revolution for freedom” to liberate their president from these influences.

The public revolt will enable Obama to make “a rational decision to save humanity from the harmful gases that threaten its destiny,” according to bin Laden.

Osama bin Laden also stated that the world would be a better place if Western nations direct their efforts and attention to fighting climate change, than waging – what he described as a war against Islam.

“This is a struggle between two of the largest cultures on Earth, and it is in the shadow of catastrophic climate conditions. The world should put its efforts into attempting to reduce the release of gases,” bin Laden wrote.

In another declassified document related to this issue, bin Laden is reportedly to have urged a close aide to launch a media campaign for the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001. It is said he tasked the unnamed aid to include a call for cutting greenhouse gas emissions around the world.

  1. Such is the climate of deceit that permeates the media, that all declarations they make are either obediently swallowed by us without question or viewed with outright suspicion. The opening words ‘The slain Al-Qaeda leader’ for example. Was he? And if so when? If he did in fact write highly critical comments regarding the USA and corporations, would this information be made public by our ‘authorities, and if so for what purpose? If they do so out of respect for Democratic principles why are they so fanatical in their persecution of ‘whistle blowers’
It is difficult to ignore the possibility that the media as a whole is dedicated to confusing rather than informing, with the aim perhaps of depriving the rank-and-file of any durable convictions. Public convictions of any kind have the potential of becoming a force operating in opposition to the wishes of our elites and no self-serving megalomaniac is prepared to risk that. The Orwellian ability to change the name of an enemy in mid- speech is one that our masters ache for.
