Proof That Animals Feel Empathy: The Cat-Nurse Who Cuddles and Tends to Sick Animals

5

If anyone still has any doubt that animals feel empathy, then cat-nurse Radamenes and his cuddling crusaders should be enough to firmly prove otherwise. Radamenes, a caring black cat from Poland, was brought to an animal shelter when found to be suffering from a respiratory disease. At the time, his owners believed he would not survive, but when Radamenes began purring, the vets decided he might possibly have a fighting chance. By some miracle he survived and since then he has become dedicated to caring for the other sick animals brought to the shelter.

Radamenes curls up next to, massages, cleans and cuddles all the animals in need of some comforting affection, while they recover from a variety of illnesses. Astonishingly, he is especially careful and attentive to the pets that have undergone serious operations. The staff at the center see this extraordinary cat as one of their own.

Take a look at some of these incredible images of Radamenes the cat-nurse, caring for the sick animals of the shelter.

  1. Humans could learn a thing or two about this. Compassion is our key to maintaining our humanity. Amazing how animals have a better grasp of this than most of us do.

  2. This is a beautiful story. I absolutely believe animals have feelings, they can think and they are learning. Beware of how you treat them!!!
