Protests Move Across U.S.

The National Guard have been brought in to control the spreading protests across the United States of America. Following the ruling on the court case involving Darren Wilson’s innocence in the shooting of Michael Brown, who saw him killed, communities have demonstrated their frustrations with the police, in general.

New York, Seattle, Washington DC, , Georgia, Oregon, Cleveland, and California, in the San Francisco Bay area, all were witness to largely, peaceful protests this week. Ferguson saw 44 arrests in the town, and Oakland, CA., saw unrest on Tuesday night. In other areas, it was largely protesters blocking traffic in demonstration.

In California, protestors gathered on the U.S. 101 freeway, bringing traffic to a halt with their demonstrations across the lanes. LAPD arrived within minutes to chase and round them up onto an overpass. In New York, thousands took to the streets of Manhattan, occupying Union Square and marching through Times Square, also peacefully holding up traffic. Elsewhere, in Cleveland a similar story unfolded, while in Minneapolis, it is reported a car struck one protestor and continued to plough through the crowd surrounding the woman.[1]

It is said that around 2,200 National Guard soldiers have been deployed to assist the police in keeping order as protestors chanted “no justice,” and “hands up, don’t shoot.” The protests reflect the general consensus of the dissatisfaction with the justice system, referring to police shootings and brutality in their own communities. While Darren Wilson states to the ABC news that things could not have been done differently, and “…the reason I have a clean conscience is because I know I did my job right,” President Obama condemned the protests as “no excuse for the [destructive behavior],” while overseas, in the war-torn Gaza, a solidarity emerged in support for the protests in Ferguson and across the States. [3]

“We understand your moral outrage. We empathize with your hurt and anger. We understand the impulse to rebel against the infrastructure of a racist capitalist system that systematically pushes you to the margins of humanity,” read one banner in the Gaza.

A federal rights investigation is currently underway in conjunction with a federal investigation to see if there is any basis for the accusations of discriminatory behavior and if there are any emerging patterns.

  1. US police are too violent but you can’t muddy the issue by polarizing people to defend a cop killer (Brown). There were shootings of legitimate cases (mentally ill, elderly, deaf) for years so why rally around a thug? This is wrong. Protest for the right reasons, not to support black degeneracy and thuggery.

  2. For a lot of people it’s not just about a “cop killer” it’s about innocent lives of all color being killed and harassed by our police. Once we can get out of the race part of this then we can get somewhere. I’m planning a Prague protest in my town, for unity with the people against this police state they are forcing on us.

    • In order to clarify, let me point out that the issue was “muddied” by the claim of Brown being a “cop killer.” At the time of Brown’s shooting I believe he was wanted on suspicion of burglary.

  3. Martin L. King: “Riots are the voices of the unheard” The Gov. tells the people to protest peaceably when we are attacked by the Pigs (Police). When this country is attacked with violence they attack with violence, if it feels another country is a threat the Gov. strikes back with violence. The police ask for the peoples help when a crime is committed, but goes silent when crimes are committed by the Pigs, The Blue Code of Silence raises it’s ugly head. The few good cops are afraid to speak out against injustice perpetrated by evil racist pigs against the people who pay their salaries, because of the backlash they receive. The only thing they understand is violence and economic activism.

  4. I am 65yrs old We have lost our home and gave away my 15 yr old bird. We should be doing old people things. We can’t take anymore. We know they will kill us soon.God keep you. Things will never change.

  5. how about all life matters no matter what color skin we are all one and everybody know the mainstream media race baits everyone on this planet!they have made us hate when we should love and forgive all and try to take a stand they have used every way to do it from politics faith music and keeping us fighting against each other than stand together to fight the worlds main problem the nwo people i talk to say its not possible to beat them but if we took our part we could at least have a chance to save our world get rid of the dark agenda and rid our planet of the dark forces aliens and all that seek to destroy us make a stand for humanity as one voice and live in peace
