Test Of Humanity: Florida Homeless People Display Incredible Generosity

14

This was a social-cum-money experiment meant to test homeless people’s generosity. Omar Gosh, the Tampa hairstylist-cum-prankster wanted to measure a few hearts by asking the poor people to spare some change; and if he got the change, he would give them cash. Gosh ended up giving 20$ each to all the homeless he met during his experiment.

Posing as homeless, Gosh asked many people living on the streets if they could give him money. The response was hard to believe as the homeless not only shared whatever little money they had but they also offered their belongings including food. In the below video, you can see each of the kind-hearted souls either sharing their meal or offering whatever coins they themselves had collected from others.

  1. i lived as a homeless person . becuse i was homeless for some time. thy are not all druggys or thiefs or waists of life. as this video shows. and as i have my self exsperianced.

alot of the people that are homeless have nothing becuse thy eather lost it all or it was taken from them by someone else. even some others have no family left in this world to care for them so thy are forced to do what thy can to servive.

some homeless comunitys are giveing. caring and open to anyone that needs help. many will give you the shirt off there backs if thy see you need it. others more so will give you food or water. or even with the few that can get food stamps ( in some states hoemless are ganted a set ammount of food stamps each mounth and must reapply after a years time. Cali does this ) thy will spend what thy have to help one another

i find it sad when i do have a palce to live and i go by a homeless community. and see all the people out there that have no family to turn to or out cast becuse there family wants nothing to do with them, war vets that served out country and fought for the rights that we have. are even amung them.

the way people veiw the homeless is sickaning sometimes. there not a waist of life. there just unable to live life as someone that works does. eather becuse of hard times. or becuse no one will offer them a chance to work for them. the way we veiw them is wrong. and we should not look at them as some sub class humans. but look at them and see that at any moment we could be amung them. we could be homeless, it only takes a devorce or loseing your job for you to lose everything. and some think. that thy will never lose anything but the truth is. you can.

i dont know iv rambled on to much on this comment.

  2. That makes me angry to my core. What is wrong with human race today? It took a federal judge to stop the police in Florida to have the police stop arresting a pastor for feeding the homeless. The pastor was arrested in total of 4 times. The reason for the city’s reason for it was nothing less than diplorable and makes me sick to say these kind of people hold these special privileges to manage that cities amenities. The reason the city council cited was because of the people that have residences part time of the year there otherwise called snow birds. These snow bird complained about it and had a pastor arrested for deciding to help out another human being and giving them a hot meal in the winter time. When did it become wrong to want to help when did it become wrong to stand up and say I will help? Its because of people like that, I question all of humanity’s overall mindset? It is in my eyes that pastor regardless of his religion wanted to stand up and say I will help you. When can we as whole race stand up and say no more, and as we do gladly with even the smallest humble smile say its ok I will help you. When are we as nation and a race we set the example not only for other people on a local level but maybe on day world wide. I hope and pray maybe one we all can just stop and say we will stand together not as one religion not as a nation but as human race.

    • In the UK (and I believe, also the US) they have tried to put spikes outside of shop entrances so homeless people won’t sleep there for (some) shelter.

I’ve seen signs at train stations telling people to report begging to the transport police. It was clear from the way the signs were phrased all persons found begging would be prosecuted. There was nothing to suggest any genuine homeless person would have been referred to a charity, nor the obvious fct that genuine homelessness will result in the need to beg for some people, and prosecuting them for that fact will only ensure they stay homeless and out of work than solving the problem whatsoever.

That Wat life is all about. We are all family.

  6. Yes homeless is a problem in any kind of city, state or Country. Sometimes people feel bad about how homeless looks like it is sad but if we whent to change anything it is necesary to let the people look at the situations form the other light….
All kind of “Thank You” to anyone who decided to stop, and think 10 seconds after watching this video.

  7. This was posted on Face Book. I read the article and the posts from others. I live in California too, have for a little over 3 years. I, see so many homeless people who sleep on the bus benches when it’s really cold outside. One woman that my fiancee and I ran across at Ralley’s Restaurant, was standing on the side of the building, staring at the huge pictures of the food. You could tell she hadn’t eaten in some time and her clothes were torn and shoes had holes in them. We, approached her and asked her if she was hungry. She nodded, yes. We let her order whatever she wanted. She got a double fish with some chili cheese fries and a soda, they didn’t have coffee. She sat at the table outside, we sat near her. When you haven’t eaten in a while, your stomach shrinks. She ate what she could but, probably not having anywhere to store what she didn’t eat, and instead of throwing the rest away, she fed the seagulls. While she was doing it, she stood up and you would have thought she was at a grand party, she was bowing and waving to people who were not there. Probably schizophrenia or something like that. But at least she was in her happy place in her mind. I cried all the way home. I do not understand the government, police, psychs, doctors and the like. People end up in the hospital when they are homeless and have some sort of mental episode, they eventually end up in the psychiatric ward but only for a very short time and then shoved out on the street again to repeat the whole process. Why is this happening…there are so many compassionate people in the world, like yourselves. Why don’t we just start getting people together and meet up on FB and connect ourselves all the way across the nation and start asking our officials that WE elected into office, what the issue is here. Why is this happening when we spend billions on wars and have nothing for the homeless or mentally ill. That is what it will take. It’s happening because thus far, they can control one person but they cannot control the masses and that’s their biggest fear. That is why they keep people segregated like they do. That’s why they arrest the pastor mentioned in a previous post, to make an example of him. When it didn’t work, they arrested him again and probably will again in the near future. He went against their societal beliefs. This is not a society any more. We left that behind a long time ago when we allowed these things to happen as the human race. Let’s get our society back, because our children are going to be worse off than what we are now, if we don’t. Blessed Be. Az.
