[Video] Dear Future Generations: Sorry

3

Artist and activist, Prince Ea, released a video a few months back inspired by the Stand for Trees campaign, an “innovative new way for individuals to take real and effective action to protect threatened forests and help mitigate global climate change, all with the press of a button on their smart phones.”

We owe children a better future than the one we’re giving them now,” Prince Ea stated. “This isn’t just about saving trees, it’s about doing what’s right for billions of people around the world affected by climate change, as well as taking back the future generations who will be affected by the actions we take today.”

According to the National Geographic, 30 percent of the world’s land area is covered by rainforest, however we’re losing forest area roughly the size of Panama (that’s 29,762 square miles) a year. Protecting our forests is one of the best ways to reduce emissions and slow the effects of climate change.

  1. I suppose it’s important to use art in order to create a new culture with a general focus on where we should be a species. Cool, but I would like to think me and everyone surfing this site are awaiting more activity. If change is going to occur, we need to do more than this. I suggest applying the science method to our socio-economic systems It would do humanity justice to show the mainstream public the benefits of science, questioning old traditions, and technology vs money.

  2. My inspiration level went from over 9000 to near undetectable after hearing the solution to destroying trees for money, was money.

It is not money, it is ideology. You can not solve the problem with the problem…

just stop excepting it, be conscious of what you buy. Be vocal about the destruction of what keeps us healthy, that you will hold anyone in contempt very aggressively if they do not take the environment into consideration.

If this becomes the general populist mindset, it will not take money to change it. It will simply happen. If an idea is adopted by large numbers of people, that energy will manifest itself as reality. It can not be stopped.

  3. I think we need to find another planet too call home
this destruction can be our catapult too the universe
i would like too see that all this wealth would go too AI,Rocket science,Philsophy,Pshychology,or any form of knowledge
because if we dont get knowledge this catapult will fire without humanity in it

this is one solution, not the best solution
