But now Whistleblow Wall Street, a project of The Other 98% and The Rules, has launched a campaign encouraging banking and financial sector employees to blow the whistle on their bosses, on unfair practices and corruption – in a safe and anonymous way.
From call center workers that aren’t allowed to go to the bathroom, to bank tellers forced to sell predatory products because of unreasonable sales goals, to high level executives that are pressured and rewarded for engaging in illegal practices, activists say Whistleblow Wall Street helps financial sector employees root out the worst practices in the financial industry.
At WhistleblowWallStreet we are saying, “Never again!” We are providing the safest possible method for potential whistleblowers to step forward. Through this website whistleblowers can send us highly encrypted messages and evidence. They can reveal their identities to us or remain anonymous, even to us. We hope they will describe what they have seen, identify any documents they provide, walk us through their material, and give us the benefit of their expertise and observations… Financial whistleblowers are on the front lines in protecting Americans against rampant corporate greed and the next financial meltdown. Insiders are often the only individuals who have the knowledge to prove corrupt acts are occurring – acts that threaten the public welfare.
According to Business Insider, tipsters can initiate the process via Whistleblow Wall Street’s website, which helps bridge the gap between the whistleblowers and lawyers at the Government Accountability Project. The Government Accountability Project will then act as a conduit between finance sector employees and investigators.
