In 1983, now deceased MP Geofrey Dickens, handed a dossier containing up to 114 “potentially relevant files” to then Home-Secretary, Leon Brittan. The dossier detailed the alleged pedophile activity inside Westminster. [i] However, the dossiers whereabouts is currently unknown, and is rumored to have listed several names of MP’s at the time,[ii] according to Peter McKelvie, a retired Child Protection Team Manager.

Leon (now Lord) Brittan is currently facing his own scandals. In June 2014, the alleged rape of a 19 year old student in his London flat in 1967, has emerged. He has not been arrested, but cautioned and interviewed by the police on the matter. On 7 July, the Conservative stated “It is true that I have been questioned by the police about a serious allegation made against me. This allegation is wholly without foundation.” [iii]

This comes on the eve of a new investigation into the whereabouts of the dossier containing the 114 files in relation to the Westminster pedophile ring, provoking suspicions of a cover-up. On 7 July 2014, the Home Secretary, Teresa May announced a review of the historic child abuse allegations, and the handling of the files.[iv] The investigation is claimed to scrutinize the inadequacies of the government’s attention to the first claims of child sex abuse in the 1980’s and if a duty of care was breached. 1. If the dossier exists then it should be released immediately so that those who enacted these unspeakable crimes can be brought to just immediately.

No-one is above the law, not even the lawmakers themselves. That is true democracy!

  2. Details are now emerging from the Cyril Smith case that members of the judiciary stopped the investigation. The judiciary get a huge amount of very expensive privaleges and no questions it. It would be interesting if someone were to do a FOI request on judiciary expenses. A lot of them are completely out of touch and, over the years, there has been some real corruption. While every other govt. dept. has to justify its use of public funds (quite rightfully) and be fair and honest in their behaviour. The judiciary seem immune. We need to stop ‘tugging out forelocks’ to these people and remind them they are public servants who are accountable yo the people. There are some good people in the judiciary but the lack of transparency and deference we are all expected to display is a recipe for corruption to flourish.

  3. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog. A great read. I’ll certainly be back.

  4. I would like to thnkx for the efforts you have put in writing this blog. I am hoping the same high-grade blog post from you in the upcoming as well. 5. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
