Hillary Receives $6 Million From Soros, As Sanders Raises $20 Million From Ordinary Voters

If there was any suspicion that the end result of Hillary Clinton’s “reformation” of Wall Street would only result in more of the same, billionaire investor George Soros has inadvertently confirmed it. In December 2015, the 26th wealthiest person in the world had contributed a whopping 6 million dollars to a super-PAC that supports Hillary.

I will do everything I can to appoint Supreme Court justices who protect the right to vote and do not protect the right of billionaires to buy elections, the words of Hillary Clinton in May. Seven months later, she accepts 6 million dollars from a billionaire.

The super-PAC, Priorities USA Action, had raised 25.3 million dollars in the prior 6 months- Soros’s donation makes up a quarter of that haul. Notable contributions came from media mogul Haim Saban and his wife who gave 5 million dollars and financier Donald Sussman who contributed 2.5 million dollars.

The billionaire has spent a total of 8 million dollars to elect Hillary so far.

On January 21, 2016, she wrote the following:

“It’s time to reclaim our democracy, reform our distorted campaign finance system and restore access to the ballot box in all 50 states.

That starts with reversing Citizens United. And that’s where my comprehensive plan to restore common sense to campaign finance begins. As president, I’ll appoint Supreme Court justices who recognize that Citizens United is bad for America. And if necessary, I’ll fight for a constitutional amendment that overturns it.

This statement has not kept her from accepting the billionaire’s donation, however.

Ordinary voters have awarded Bernie Sanders with a record 20 million dollars in January of this year alone; the growing momentum for Sanders might have accounted for Soros’s decision to dump 6 million dollars (six times his usual contribution) into Hillary’s campaign.

The latest poll show that the two are practically neck-and-neck, with Hillary leading slightly.

“Turnout is everything,” Axelrod, senior political commentator for CNN said. “If turnout is within a normal range, Hillary likely wins. If it goes higher, approaching 200,000, it will be a good night for Bernie.”
