Cop Crashes Patrol Car, Assaults Officers and Flees Scene – Walks Away with No Charges

Sometimes the level of blue privilege that flaunts in our faces is dumbfounding. Yet again, police have shown us that the laws don’t apply to everyone – and definitely don’t apply to anyone with a badge. A California State Parks officer crashed his patrol SUV, fled from police and ended up without a single charge. Needless to say, if this was any one of us, we’d end up making a detour through the hospital before proceeding to the county jail.

State Parks Officer Daniel Kenney was captured on what appears to be a cell phone video, actively resisting officers after what would appear to have been a serious crash. Few details have been released, but what is known is that Kenney crashed into a parked vehicle and a power pole. Kenney’s behavior was indicative of an intoxicated driver. After being approached by officers on foot, Kenney refused to exit the vehicle after repeated commands. “Stop” can be heard multiple times, yet Kenney fails to do so. At one point, the vehicle lunges forward toward the officers. This act alone would have seen any one of us with a bullet in our body. The officer on the passenger side of the SUV smashes out the window. Nonetheless, Kenney is allowed to drive out of the area, but not before briefly stopping at the red traffic signal.

Kenney was under the influence, despite reports from the California Highway Patrol stating the contrary. Kenney was eventually caught, handcuffed and released to a supervisor at the State Parks Department. This is a disgusting double standard that should not be allowed to stand. Time and time again we see police covering up their own wrong-doing when they think nobody is looking. Now we see them blatantly affording one of their own a pass, when numerous crimes, including a felony assault with a vehicle, had occurred.

Kenney was another alleged “hero cop” who was in the K9 unit. He had been awarded the 2012 Top Dog Award with his dog Kilo. The award was for “demonstrating the best discipline, teamwork, and overall skills.” You can clearly see the words K-9 Unit, Stay Back,” written on the side of the fleeing vehicle. The incident took on such a bizarre nature that even the person recording voiced their opinion – stating they believed the marked police vehicle must have been stolen. The damage to the vehicle was extensive. The grill was smashed in; the windshield was broken and the passenger mirror dangles as the vehicle sped away.

Kenney was evaluated at a local hospital before being released to his department. He is currently enjoying what is most likely a paid vacation, which is the standard reward for misconduct these days. How the California Highway Patrol can make a statement advising that Kenney was not under the influence, is unbeknownst to me. It is obvious to anyone who watches the video what was really happening. Cases like this one are the cause of the general population’s loss of confidence in the system, not to mention its cherry-picked methods of justice.
