Mother defects from Anti-Vaxx Movement after Whooping Cough Scare

15

A mother has defected from the anti-vaccination movement after her seven children contracted the deadly pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough. After “getting spooked” around 6 years ago with all the misinformation surrounding vaccination agendas from the Big Pharma and medical communities, Tara Hills opted against getting her youngest 4 children vaccinated.

Admitting, Tara Hills said that she and her husband didn’t do enough research with far reaching consequences that have left the family “emotionally raw.” Her young children are now under home quarantine until the virus subsides with a prescription of antibiotics. She is also concerned about the potential exposure she has contributed to, for a five month old baby in the family, and the rest of the community.

“Right now my family is living the consequences of misinformation and fear. I understand that families in our community may be mad at us for putting their kids at risk. I want them to know that we tried our best to protect our kids when we were afraid of vaccination and we are doing our best now, for everyone’s sake, by getting them up to date. We can’t take it back … but we can learn from this and help others the same way we have been helped,” she told CBC News during a recent interview.

Whooping cough can be deadly amongst the elderly, young, and those suffering immunity deficiencies. Caused by a bacterial infection in the nose and throat, general flu like symptoms that persist longer than normal may present. What presents as a “normal” cough, after a 7-10 day period, can turn into coughing fits then end with a whooping sound as the person tries to breathe. Infants may not make the sound, but change color as they cough; from red, to purple in severe cases, and may even vomit with the coughing fits. Seek treatment if in doubt, or if symptomatic.

There are plenty of arguments for and against vaccinations for many reasons. The most important thing for anyone to do is research and make an informed decision according to your personal circumstances.

  1. This Woman still walks around the neighborhoods with her 7 children in tow handing out graphic anti abortion pamphlet to children and adults a like.. She only seeks attention.. those that knew her in school know its all for attention and not an actual epiphany..

  2. this is ridiculous….. THE ARTICLE says she has 7 children. The SAME article says she hasn’t vaccinated 4 of them.. ALL 7 got sick…… conclusion…. WHAT THE hell has not being vaccinated has to do with it..?????

  3. My son had pertussis last summer. He is vaccinated. Most recent pertussis cases are in the vaccinated population. Most people tolerate this virus without complications and are then immune for life. The vaccine is fairly ineffective evidentially.

  4. Omg i didn’t expect this article to read from anonymous. First of all antibiotics is not a cure and even do nothing for an infected person. My son had whooping cough at the ge of 2. He didn’t had to stay home or take antibiotics, he could normally go to daycare. The period he had chicken pocks was way worse haha. These kind of articles are just propaganda for vaccines

  5. I had whooping cough as a child…it wasn’t much worse then a flu. I understand some people are at more of a risk of severe cases but this is still not a reason to force people to take vaccines. It should be their decision. Young elderly and sick can die from any illness. Vaccines could be safer removing certain ingredients but they won’t because it would harm profits supplementing them. Don’t let them get away with it and demand safer vaccines because no matter what you do people are dying and being harmed from vaccines and illnesses.

  6. There is a huge movement today that supports mandatory vaccinations. I looked into it this year myself and found that the media’s handling and promotion of the pro vaxxer movement was just like the medias coverage of the build up to the iraq war. That should send up a red flag for all of us who really care about the truth and liberty regardless of were you stand on the vaccination issue. For anyone who is interested the article can be found here:

  7. terrible article. terrible headline. the only decision that was made out of fear was her doing a 180 on tye way she felt about it ’cause her kids got sick. people get sick, then they get better. this is how the human body gets stronger. awful article anon. i still love ya, but ya gotta be better than this on subjects of this importance.

  8. ‘There are plenty of arguments for and against vaccinations for many reasons.’ The only argument that is actually based on scientific FACT is to vaccinate. There is no credible reason not to vaccinate your kids – sort yourselves out and educate yourselves! If I have a kid and it gets measles or something else just as awful, I will declare it open-season on people who are ‘scared’ of vaccinating. Seriously, they will be under my wheels.

    • Please read a vaccine insert. They’re incredibly informative because they contain all the information the vaccine companies are legally required to tell you, but don’t actually want you to know. Do not mistake that pitiful ‘parent information’ sheet for the actual vaccine insert. You have to ask for it, and it is incredibly different from the piece of paper they routinely give out. There is a reason so many people worry about vaccinations. I beg you, please look into the actual LEGALLY required insert. It takes less than 5 minutes to look one up online. Aborted fetal tissue in shots? Sounds crazy until you see it CLEARLY listed in the ingredients list. Please, look. Please.

      • There is no fetal tissue in vaccines, there are NO human cells within vaccines. Human cells were originally used to produce cell lines in which to grow the viruses, this was done decades ago and in no way is there any human cells, fetal or otherwise in the finished vaccine as they are taken out. They are not continually using fetal tissue to make these cell strains, and the ingredient listed in vaccines ” human-diploid fibroblast cell cultures” is not fetal tissue, but cell lines that many decades ago were derived from fetal tissue (but is not fetal tissue, it’s replicated cells that originated from fetal tissue). Learn science, learn to critically appraise scientific literature, learn basic immunology and vaccine creation.

Gotta love all the comments from anti-vaxxers who say articles like this are pro-vax propaganda and that scientific studies are a conspiracy. It’s so hypocritical when a lot of the stuff touted by anti-vaxxers contains no factual information nor proof to back up their claims. Just because it’s on the internet doesn’t mean it’s true, case and point fetal cells in vaccines. Do some actual research on the subject and not just blindly believe anything that someone posted on a website.

        • Ok, Ill start by declaring I am skeptical of vaccinations but I’ll also admit that I am no expert either.

I had whooping cough at the age of six. I had to stay home for a few days but it was by no means any black plague.

My main cynicism towards vaccinations and antibiotics is that half the time it seems that people are just over paranoid about everything. I mean recently it seems that the World Health Organisation started raising serious concerns about the threat of super bugs that are immune to antibiotics. They are immune because we have a culture of abusing these sort of things. We prescribe antibiotics to everything and vaccinate against everything. We dont trust our own immune system to do anything these anymore. This sort of mentality can be seen across all sorts facets of modern day society too(but thats a different argument).

Without wanting to provoke some sort of conspiracy theory argument I do think it is somewhat important to consider the fact that there is an unfathomable amount of money that is harvested from these sort of programs. I’ts not unreasonable to assume that there could possibly be an element of fear mongering going on. It’s also not unreasonable to assume that governments have some sort of affiliation with the multi billion dollar pharmaceutical industry and their agendas.

I’m not disputing the importance to medical interventions and prevention of illnesses. I’m also no disputing REAL, objective, un-inhibited scientific evidence but I think sometimes people do trust the status quo too much simply because it’s been presented by a man in a white lab coat.

          • I think you need to understand the difference between actual peer-reviewed publications (which is what 95% of “men in white lab coats” actually publish) and quick summations aimed at laymen written up in popular magazines and newspapers that tend to misinterpret results at best, and outright lie at worst. No self-respecting scientist who cares about how they’re viewed by the scientific community and academic institutions in general writes papers that say, “This experiment unambiguously proves that so and so is the worst thing ever and we should all do everything we can to prevent it”. It’s the newspaper articles, written by journalists who often have no contact with the actual researchers who conducted the experiment that do this. Yes, occasionally you’ll get some politician-doctor okaying some policy or other, but again, this politician-doctor on TV isn’t the PhD. or M.D. who actually did the experiment. Any researcher worth his salt knows that there’s limitations to every experiment, and just because one experiment (no matter how well-conducted or thorough) is not satisfactory to “prove” anything. It certainly helps provide evidence a certain hypothesis has validity, but it is NOT undeniable proof, and nobody writing such reports would claim it is.
