It seems we can depend on Japan when it comes to unveiling the next great advance in robotics…. and also the next advance of slightly creepy robotics. Able to converse in Japanese, it can be programmed to speak Mandarin and Korean. Watch the robot “sing” and attempt to retrospectively thank people. Then watch as it struggles to prove itself worthy of permanently filling a role that had been thought to be restricted to humans, as the store decides whether to retain its services.
