[Watch] Stephen Colbert Is Furious With The Hate Aimed At Refugees And Tells It Like It Is

Colbert has clearly had enough and isn’t afraid to voice his opinion.

Rarely does comedian Stephen Colbert get angry, but when he does, you can bet it’s for a good reason.

Upon hearing that the White House passed a bill that would refuse Syrian refugees safe haven in the United States, Colbert clearly reached his limit.

In a segment for the Late Show, the outspoken comedian expressed his outrage in a rant only he can pull off.

As Addicting Info reports, Syrian refugees are fleeing from ISIS by the millions (latest numbers report that 10.6 million Syrians have been displaced from the war which started in 2011). They’ve lost their homes, the children are haunted by nightmares (and sleeping in horrible conditions), and now a large percent of American citizens are allowing fear to get the best of them.

The United States has considered taking in as many as 10,000 refugees, but that is a tiny fraction of the millions begging for assistance. America was founded by immigrants seeking asylum and freedom – where are the descendants of those free-thinkers now?

It seems Liberals are the only ones speaking out, and Stephen Colbert is leading the conversation.

  1. Colbert is despicable. A few things: I believe it was THIS SITE that informed me that ISIS/ISIL trains kids to be killers.

Many reports show that big media portrays the refugees as being women and children, yet ACTUAL FOOTAGE shows that they are nearly all men, and many groups of hundreds are ALL MEN who leave a path of destruction and rape behind them.

I don’t get how anonymous sympathizes with them.

On the other hand, I believe that at least 80% are not ISIS. I believe at least 24% will be upstanding citizens (the rest will leech off the system and do nothing for the betterment of the country).

There is NOTHING wrong with the idea of stricter control over who comes here or not.

I don’t get it. Ever since I started following anonymous from facebook, they have been on the forefront of TRUTH. Yet some of the articles are just trash.

    • So if something is not according to your world view, it must be trash/not true. I like how you also pull a load of percentages out of thin air. Definitely something an idiot would do.

    • Unformed rubbish Sir. So refugees are people who “leave a path of destruction & rape behind them’ Are you by any chance one of those dumb arse Republicans from Hicksville who thinks that one side of the world is San Francisco & the other New York ?

  2. The Americans adopted the laws of their constitution from the Iroquois nation. Think about it. Now nations all over the world are scrambling to accept the Syrians from a desastous situation…it is hard going in an inflated economy but possible. What I want to know is how the the rich Gulf countries of the Middle East…stand by and do nothing because of tribal lore? The good people of the western regions are trying to facilitate understanding and generosity of spirit during this hardship and diabolical atrocities for the Syrians.

  3. To many House Democrats voted for the bill. Also, there is an error in your story. It says the White House passed a bill when it was the House of Representatives that passed a bill. The Senate Democrats have vowed to block the bill and the President said he would veto it.

  4. So stupid… I love Colbert but holy crap this video and topic is absolutely pathetic. Paris is just the beginning. Sure, let them in… Just keep them in California or something and we can use them as a type of population control when they start blowing shit up.

  5. I’m tired of this fear mongering, people shaming bullshit.

Are we such people that we stand quaking in our boots at the mere mention of terrorism? If your brother were caught selling drugs, does that make you a drug dealer? If your uncle was a rapist, does that mean you are yourself a rapist? If I happened to go to the same church as a boy who later became outed as a white supremacist, does that me a white supremacist? The answer is a clear and understandable NO. And yet you look at these people who are not related by blood to these attackers, and you spit at them. You look at these people, who might never have so much as lived in the same town as these terrorists, and you tell me that you believe they might be terrorists because of the actions of a cell that has terrorized their homes so much that they have had to flee?

You can’t have it both ways. You stand there, believing wholeheartedly, that these people have ill intentions for those who are taking them in. You call them moochers, spies, terrorists. And yet I would hazard a guess that you haven’t even bothered to meet one of these refugees.

Is your place in life so fragile that you think having a new family move into your neighborhood will shatter your way of living? Why do you truly hate these people, or anticipate them being lazy? Do you think they wanted to move here, and that this whole incident was a ruse to get into some other country? If so, you need some serious lessons in logical thought.

The world can’t continue like this. We cannot divide ourselves every time we can’t agree on a course of action. We cannot allow fear to drive us, or believe in the dark sides of others. We need to be strong, not petty. We need to be wary, not weary. We need to use our wits, and actual real world experience, not believe what media or friends say. Hatred cannot continue to exist on this level – because inevitably, that level of hatred will result in more acts of hatred, like ISIS, whom you seem to hate so much.
