WhatsApp, the famous messaging app that was launched in 2010, is rumored to be releasing a new video calling feature. There are 55 employees working at WhatsApp. WhatsApp is the largest messaging app used in the world—with a user base of up to 900 million (September 2015).
Recently, screenshots of a new WhatsApp video calling feature were released on the internet, causing quite a stir of excitement. If these screenshot are legitimate, then a new competitor for Skype, Facetime …etc is coming just across the horizon. The screenshot were first seen on a German technology blog…..The screenshot of the video calling service is of the unreleased IOS version (WhatsApp). The version is believed to be v2.;-12.16.2. This version is under testing mode and will probably be released next year.
As of yet, WhatApp has not made an official announcement or comment about the rumored video calling feature. However, in order to engage more and more users on WhatsApp, the company is attempting to improve their user experience as much as possible.
If the video calling service is introduced on the upcoming version of WhatsApp, the app will likely engage more users and will force users to use WhatsApp instead of other video calling service like Skype, Facetime …etc
