Failed Democracy: Here’s Why Nothing Really Changes

Arjun Walia of Collective-Evolution has written an interesting article that got us thinking. He points out some specific ways in which the U.S. “democracy” doesn’t exist, focusing specifically on how voting doesn’t change a thing. It brings to attention the fact that, in general, nothing is changing.

First, let’s discuss the information and facts that Walia has brought to light. He starts his report with the well-known statement made by Franklin D. Roosevelt:

Presidents are selected, not elected.”

What exactly does this mean?

Government policy is greatly affected by corporate influence. The United States is not run by the president or Congress, but rather a hierarchy of Cartels. At the top, you have “The Cabal,” which is headed by the Banking Cartel. Next down the line is the Oil Cartel (which is basically owned by the Banking Cartel). Following next are the CEO’s of transnational corporations, and then there’s the intelligence community, such as the NSA, CIA, and so forth. These are the entities that run the Western Nations and, in fact, much of the world.

Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce, and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” – Woodrow Wilson, 13th president of the United States

Presidents and politicians need a lot of funding to win elections, and statistically we’ve seen that the candidate who spends the most money usually wins. The majority of this money comes from corporate donations through lobbying, and the politicians who accept these donations find themselves working for the corporations, not the people.

Since 2010, your voice has been muffled by the sounds of billions of dollars funneling into our elections. Secret political action committees, corporations and the super-rich now have a direct line to the politicians.” – Indianapolis City County Counselor, Zach Adamson

Walia gives examples of how corporations then spread their influence throughout our politics by looking closer at Monsanto. The Obama administration appointed Michael R. Taylor as deputy commissioner for foods at the FDA. Taylor is a former Monsanto VP. Coincidence? Linda J. Fisher, the former assistant administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Pollution Prevention, Pesticides, and Toxic Substances is also a VP of Government and Public Affairs for the Monsanto Corporation. In another example given by Walia, David W. Beier, the former head of Government Affairs for Genentech, Inc., “was also chief domestic policy advisor to Al Gore when he was Vice President.” And the list apparently goes on.

Next, Walia considers the level of secrecy within the United States alone, and it’s worth mentioning here. It’s hard to call a nation a democracy when over 500 million pages of documents are classified each year.

Consider how a researcher might study the official history of their country – how is this even possible when most of that history is kept secret for the sake of ‘national security?’

Scientists with the Canadian government are speaking out about being “muzzled” on major issues such as global warming, and over 5,000 inventions had been put under secrecy orders by the end of fiscal year 2014.

Walia finishes his report by making a few final comments, and here’s where it made us think: similar to the British monarchy, American presidents have become more like figureheads than leaders. They are celebrities meant to pacify the masses and boost morale while the banks and corporations create havoc behind the scenes. They’re one step away from donning white wigs, buckled shoes, and walking hordes of vacationers through tours of the White House.

Another good example given of our less than democratic nation is the controversy behind 9/11. Since the events on 9/11, a carefully orchestrated campaign has been initiated against anyone who questions the official findings, leading many people to consider the issue a “conspiracy theory” when it is far from it.

Approximately 50 percent of Americans do not believe the official findings and independent investigations have been demanded, and yet the government has blatantly ignored the issue and all requests for answers, even requests made by family members of the victims.

As Walia points out, we cannot look to our so-called leaders to fix our problems any more, nor does it do much good to direct our anger at them. They’re only puppets—a flashy show meant to divert our attention, and they’re selected by those who are running things from the shadows.

There needs to be a mass defection from within the corrupt corporations and institutions who follow their own agendas and destroy the planet. It is only a small handful of individuals who are truly profiting from the events taking place across our nation and the globe. The rest of the population are unfortunately the worker bees; the ones who handle the money, build the houses, grow the food, drive the vehicles, and otherwise make it possible for the elite to survive.

This perceived weakness of the citizens is in actuality our greatest strength—one little worker bee may not seem like much of a threat, but a swarm can be formidable.

refusal to obey governmental demands or commands especially as a nonviolent and usually collective means of forcing concessions from the government

Not callin’ for a NWO either, not takin no RFID for the devil. It’s time for an evolution, not a revolution. Let’s tap in to the 90% of our brains we don’t use yet, and see what happens.
