An international team of scientists have recently made the discovery of a new state of matter – Jahn-Teller matter.
Until recently we have been well known of our 4 main states of matter; solid, liquid, gas and plasma but it turns out there are much more states that we are unaware of. These other states do not live with us throughout nature but can only occur under extreme laboratory conditions.
The thing that makes the Jahn-Teller metal stand out so much is that scientists believe it could the key to unlocking the physics behind high temperature superconductors. The international team of scientists that discovered this new state were conducting a study on unconditional superconductors when they found the Jahn-Teller metals. Jahn-Teller metals were found in a material seeming to be an insulator, a superconducter, a metal and has magnetic properties all in one. These findings where published by the scientists recently.
A superconductor in simple speech is basically when a material conducts electricity without any resistance, since there is no resistance there is no loss of energy, including no loss of heat. When a metal is used to transmit electricity there is resistance – heat resistance, this then results in the loss of energy.
Scientists are now working on creating a much more efficient superconductor with the help of Jahn-Teller metal, if Jahn-Teller is what scientists expect it to be then it could completely change how we produce and use energy.
The idea of insulators becoming superconductors could soon become a reality. The discovery still needs much work and experimenting with so don’t expect to see this for some time yet, but when it comes to science this is a very exciting topic!

I hate it when I’m reading articles and I see mispelled words and hopefully typos and not just ignorance. Lol unfortunately nowadays most articles I read are like that. Other than that , spiffy information.
