2 Year Old Girl ‘Swears Like A Trooper Thanks To Peppa Pig Game’

Peppa Pig is one of the most well known kids shows out there today. The show has managed to reach the eyes of children pretty much everywhere in first world countries. Thanks to the cartoon’s great success, many educational books, games and even songs have been made themed around the show to help children everywhere understand the basics of living on our planet.

According to Laura Burroughs, the 23 year-old mother of a two year old girl, Lilly-May Barber, one of the shows spin-off toys apparently has the mouth of a sailor and has been teaching her child to swear ever since she started using it.

The toy causing all of the outrage is called the ‘Peppa Pig Fun And Learn Tablet’ and here is a video of it ‘swearing’ bellow.

Did that sound like swearing to you?

Ms Burroughs, from Talbot, South Wales, stated that her daughter “has been swearing ever since she started playing it – she has learned it off the toy and says it quite often.”

“I was accusing her dad of teaching her to swear but it was only when I tried out the tablet that I found one of the activities says ‘find the odd one out’ – but it sounds like “f*** you, odd one out.”

The mother says that she bought the toy from Argos to help educate her daughter about numbers and letters before she starts school, but she claims that the only thing that her daughter has learned is “how to swear like a trooper”.

A spokesman from Argos commented on the situation: “As a responsible family retailer we have robust processes in place to ensure that the toys we sell are safe and appropriate for children.”

“We take Miss Burroughs’ concerns regarding the Peppa Pig toy very seriously, and sincerely apologise for any distress this may have caused.” Later stating that “We are trying to make contact with the customer directly, and are working with the manufacturer to investigate as a matter of urgency.”

This is not the first time that Peppa Pig has apparently been caught swearing. Last year we also had a story about Kiannah Cox, another 2 year old girl who enjoyed watching the show.

Apparently in an episode titled ‘End of Term Party’ one of the characters are heard saying the words “Rocking Gazelles” which in the cartoon, sounds like ‘F-ing Gazelles’.

Cox’s mother Natalie, 30, also says that her daughter has picked up the word and has been saying it ever since. And to back up her claim even more she says that whenever her child sees Peppa Pig toys in stores she begins to swear.

It really doesn’t sound like ‘Rocking Gazelles’ to be honest, but I am certain that he isn’t saying F-ing

Does the Peppa Pig cartoon really involve swearing though?.. Probably not. But despite if it is actually swearing or not, it only needs to sound like it is in order to teach children the word, which seems apparent in this situation.

It hasn’t been long since the last spark of controversy concerning a toy that swears, a few months ago we also had a story of an apparent swearing Minion being sold with McDonalds happy meals!
