University of Oklahoma SAE “House Mom’s” Racist Slur Caught On Video

A two-year-old video of University of Oklahoma’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity’s disgraced “house mom“, 79-year-old Beauton Gilbow, shows her laughing and singing at a party while repeating the N-word a total of seven times. The video has gone viral on social media.

In the video, you can hear the SAE members cheering “there will never be a nig*** in SAE” and “You can hang them from a tree, but they’ll never sign with me”.

After she was branded a racist for her repeated slurs, Gilbow released a statement on Tuesday:

“I have been made aware that a video of me that is circulating on social media and in the news. I am heartbroken by the portrayal that I am in some way racist. I have friends of all races and do not tolerate any form of discrimination in my life. I was singing along to a Trinidad song, but completely understand how the video must appear in the context of the events that occurred this week.”

Gilbow lost her job after SAE was closed by the University of Oklahoma on Sunday after the video was posted on Vine:

University of Oklahoma President David Boren released a strongly worded statement calling the actions of SAE members disgraceful:
