Epilepsy is a condition ranging from mild seizures from a few a year to several every day. A child suffering uncontrollable epileptic seizures will affect their cognitive development, restricting the oxygen to the brain during each fit suffered. Intellectual disability can eventually result, and if seizures are complex and progress for long enough durations, death can result.
Cannabis oil can help to reduce and in some cases almost stop the seizure activity in patients. It may be, that the use of the oil on a daily basis can reduce the seizures enough so that the child can begin to regain a relatively normal lifestyle.
Cannabis oil is a Schedule 1 drug under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act, and considered similar in most countries across the world. This makes clinical research difficult, and access near impossible for those who need its medicinal properties. In the U.S, 14 states still restrict its use, and parents can be jailed for administering cannabis oil to their children.
Cannabis oil is a derivate of the plant. In the quantities administered, children cannot get “stoned” using the medication. It is simply an extract delivered orally in the form of a liquid, assisting in reducing the seizure activity. As one parent who uses it on her son, and has seen a marked result of cognitive development since, she justifies its use. “This is more than just make it so that he doesn’t have seizures anymore. I want him back. I want him to thrive and live and enjoy us. And if a plant can do that why do we object?” She went on to say “we instantly saw results. He was smiling again. We noticed the decrease in seizures. He was able to transition. At this point, he was finally able to gain cognitive skills.”
If Monsanto are permitted a patent to develop GM Marijuana, at what point do we say ‘enough is enough’ and advance this medical treatment so our children no longer have to suffer? The video below says it all.

ait… Anonymous is a scientific authority that announces ground breaking research now? What?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice, hopeful video, but unless there is corroborating research to accompany it, you cannot call it proof of anything.
