John Brennan, the current Director of the CIA, testified before a Senate intelligence committee that the CIA has been unable to uncover any connections between the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooter, Omar Mateen and ISIS. While the media was quick to jump on the story and brand it another act of Islamic terrorism, the more we learn about the shooter, the more it becomes apparent that Omar Mateen was simply an angry and confused man.
Mateen was an American. He was born in New York in 1986. He lived a seemingly average but troubled life. He was a security guard for the controversial G4S Security. Multiple pictures show him posing in the mirror wearing NYPD shirts and a video has surfaced of Mateen working security wearing his G4S uniform. He had ambitions of being a cop and even attended a police academy in Ft. Pierce Florida. Mateen’s law enforcement career ended, however, before it began. He was kicked out of the program for allegedly sleeping in class as well as reports that he asked another cadet if he would report him for bringing a gun to school. Red flags went off and Mateen was given the boot. In law enforcement, once you’ve been kicked out of an academy or fired from an agency, odds are you’re career is done because no right minded agency should or would pick you up.
Mateen was married twice, both short lived and troubled. His ex-wife described the beatings she took at Mateen’s hand. She described how he intentionally isolated her from her family. When you add this to the reports from numerous sources that Mateen was seen frequenting Pulse, a gay nightclub, and was spotted on gay dating apps like Grindr, it should come as no surprise that Mateen was confused about his sexuality. Obama nailed it when he said that when people get scared and angry, they cling to their guns and religion. This is exactly what Mateen did. Not to be an armchair Freud, but it shouldn’t take a shrink to see that he embraced the law enforcement community as a way to fill voids within himself, like many cops do. It would appear that he then possibly turned to Islam to deal with the guilt he felt over his feelings of homosexuality. This is all opinion, however, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…This is a recipe for disaster and it doesn’t appear that there’s any need for him to be driven by ISIS. His proclamation for ISIS would appear to be a last ditch effort to be part of something. It was his chance to be part of a group who would accept him after his death. His last attempt at acceptance that no one could take away from him, ever.
Both the FBI and the CIA seemingly agree, acknowledging that they can find no links between Mateen and the Islamic State. Despite the fact that Mateen traveled to Saudi Arabia twice between 2011 and 2012, they have gathered no intelligence linking Mateen to any Islamic extremist organizations. As more and more mass shootings occur, the government and the media look for ways to pin a label on them of Islamic Terrorism. While the government continues their War on Terror, and looks for every reason to perpetuate it, it is a relief to see the authorities admit this was no organized terror plot and that Mateen was simply a lone wolf.
Soooo what happened to the “supposed” phone call about him pledging the allegiance to ISIS? I guess that was fake… Or what about the witnesses that said he was doing that? Guess that was fake too….It’s hard not to notice there is still some things missing in the Orlando Shooting that we are not told about.
No leftist slant in that article… Keep trying to cover for the spectacular failures of the Obama admin.
I find it rather telling that when a man with a penis says he identifies as a woman, people like Alek tell us that we should believe him, but every time a jihadist kills in the name of allah, people like Alek tell us he was confused. I think Alek has things backwards.
