Microsoft is known famously from their operating system Windows. However, in more recent times, Microsoft is producing more electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and even laptops. The Microsoft Corporation is now working on a Cortana-Based wearable device in which they labeled as “Clip”.
The billion dollar company had introduced several new devices in New York during October in which includes the Microsoft Band 2, Surface Pro 4, Surface Book, the Lumia 950 as well as the 950 XL, and the Pixel C laptop. The Microsoft Band 2 wearable is already incorporated with the Windows Digital Assistant, but now Microsoft is rumored to be working on yet another wearable device in which is solely based upon Cortana.
Taking Halo a bit too far…I don’t think so either!
The “Clip” will not be worn upon the wrist, but instead will be an ear wear. The rumored to be dubbed “Clip” may even be in competition with the Moto Hint. Though at this time, it is still unknown if the device will be worn such as an ear-bud or like a hearing aid.
The new wearable device from Microsoft is suspected to be able cooperate with Siri as well as Google Now for iPhone and Android Devices. While the actual device is still in early development stages, the prototype may already be available this year and we should expect to see the release of the Clip sometime in the upcoming year.
While the Clip is labeled as a wearable, if Microsoft performs any research upon how people would utilize the device then it would be labeled as a “Hearable” instead of a wearable. There are also rumors in which the Clip will contend with the Moto Hint and will be targeted towards busy women. Microsoft is performing research upon how people utilize digital voice assistance in which allows users to hear messages and vocal interactions with their device(s).
The Microsoft Band 2, we can see Cortana is working to provide you with workout reminders and even provides a guided training, however this device is worn on the wrist. When looking into hearable, such as the Bragi Dash, Motorola’s efforts gains an enormous amount of attention with its various uses which can even include tracking fitness and even able to control “Smart-Homes”.
