As AnonHQ has reported since April, tensions have mounted in France since an attempt to change several laws and Constitutional Amendments. Vandita reported only recently about the shortages in fuel and power, as over a million people strike in protest against the new labor laws President François Hollande is attempting to introduce.
As images flood in, most from the French media and private sources, another scene of violence, and frustrations from both the police and citizens, aired late in May.
In this particular violent attack, you can see a police car travelling in quay of Valmy in Paris. It was set on fire after windows were beaten in by any weapons the thugs could find. Respect where it is due, the police officer – who was slightly injured in the attack – after trying to protect himself, calmly walked away from his attackers, to safety.
It isn’t the first time such attacks have occurred in the last six to eight weeks; with frustrations growing as the government digs their heels in with the new reforms.
It appears that the City of Lights, and France as a whole nation is plunging into a chaos not seen since the 18th century, when rules and privileges were discarded for equality and liberty. Though it spanned over a decade, it was a great period of social and political upheaval, mirroring current events somewhat, and is considered one of the most important historical events humanity has ever witnessed.
The Revolution brought about the rise of democracy and the republic, forming some focal points of modern political ideology – all of which are now threatening to crumble if the government doesn’t heed to its people once again.
