What Happens When You Eat Only Organic for Two Weeks? [VIDEO]

A Swedish family of five, who had lived on conventionally grown foods, switched to eating only organic foods for two weeks, and the effects were dramatic.

Prior to going 100% organic, the family provided urine samples, which were analyzed by scientists from the independent Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL). Insecticides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators were all found in the family’s urine.

“We’re eating pesticides,” said Vendala, the eldest daughter.

“Disgusting,” her mother replied.

After only two weeks of an entirely organic diet, urine samples were taken again and they contained almost none of the chemicals that were abundant in the initial samples.

“We know very little about the long-term effects of eating food treated with pesticides,” said Jörgen Magnér from IVL. “Especially if you consider that chemicals can be much more harmful when combined together than they are on their own.”

  1. This video has been debunked as inaccurate and misleading. Organic does not mean pesticide free. They failed to test for pesticides used in organic farming.
