To reward its employees for a decade of success, Lego gave its over 17,000 employees worldwide an extra month’s salary along with their regular paycheck in January – a holiday gift to say “thank you” for contributing to the company’s growth.
According to Roar Rude Trangbæk, the press officer at Lego Group, the money should not to be viewed as a bonus, which will be paid out as usual in March, but as compensation for making Lego the biggest toy company in the world by sales. In September 2015, Lego announced an 18% increase in revenue over the previous year.

“It’s an incredibly good performance and a result of the hard work that more than 15,000 Lego employees around the world have done,” Lego’s CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp had said at the time. The privately-held company is owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, the richest man in Denmark.
LEGO is giving all employees an extra month’s salary as this year’s company gift. I’m pretty stoked.
