So you have an iPhone 5 and you just took the phone off of your charger. Your phone says 100% fully charged, but 1 hour later your phone is now down to 5% charged.
This literally sucks, especially if you are a business manager and always using your phone on an minutely basis.
However, Apple just recently made some major modifications to their warranty program in order to take the troubles off your shoulders in order to have your iPhone battery exchanged. There are even cases in which you may be eligible in order to have your whole phone replaced. And you guessed it, it is FREE!
Wait iPhone and free in the same sentence? It is like saying ethical hacker. They just don’t make sense together, but evidently they actually do.
As we look under the new AppleCare+ Policy, seen here, we are able to verify that the company is in fact offering a replacement option for your batteries in your iOS devices for free. But with Apple there is always a catch. Are you ready? It is free until January 2016.
Also, you need to be eligible for such a replacement. Here is how to check your phone in order to verify your phone is eligible.
Step one, you must have purchased your iPhone between the dates of September of 2012 and January 2013. Step two, If you have cleared the first step, your phone must also be able to hold less than 80% of the original power.
This is a much better policy than the ones we have seen before, as before your iPhone must hold a power capacity less than that of 50% of the original power capacity. Apple noticed that waiting for that amount of length of time in order to receive their replacement is far too long and agreed to alter their policy statement to the new one.
If you are a Mac laptops, you are in luck as well. Apple has also provided in their statement that your Mac Laptop, however, the laptop battery much be below the power capacity of 50% of the original power capacity.
For most of us our only solace in efforts to avoid the horror message “Battery Level 5%” is to utilize our “AirPlane” mode.
Now, if your device(s) fall within the proper limitations of the eligibility of the replacement program, I encourage you to take full advantage of this offer. While this is a limited time offer, Apple stores will fill up quick with the replacement options of their batteries, phones, and/or laptops.
Apple is not known for offering such wonderful services such as full free replacement. However, now that we understand there are limitations to obtain the replacements and limited time frame in order to get our precious devices fixed.
