Researchers in Iraq have designed and developed a new car-sized robot to aid them in the battle against ISIS. The sole priority of this heavily armored and weaponized robot is to provide hope in the assistance of taking back an ISIS filled Iraqi town.
Defense One reported the war robot as roughly the size of a modern car, however, closely resembling a German-style military tank. To perform the assault, this tank will host a machine gun placed next to a rocket launcher, acting as this tank’s main weapon.
Operators will be able to monitor its actions via the four cameras mounted on the sides of the tank. This will allow the operators of the tank to maintain control of the machine, from up to a distance of a kilometer away.
The operators of this newly built tank will still have to remain on the respective battle field with the drone, given the limited distance of remote control However, Iraqi troops can still have the advantage of remaining hidden from their enemies while the drone goes in and sweeps the area clean.
The YouTube video below provides a simple video of the tank being used in a test field environment.
The manufacturer of this robot, dubbed the ‘Alrobot, still remains unknown. However, two brothers have been mentioned, their names remain secret. Not even the organization for which they have provided services for is mentioned. Alrobot translated from Arabic to English means robot.
An active Twitter user, @DefenseOnce, first Tweeted about the robot 18-Months ago, while it was shown at a Security and Defense exhibition located in the city of Baghdad.

The robot has been left for speculation, as little information has been released by the responsible authorities. It still remains unclear if, and even when, the Iraq Army will be deploying the robot, or if they intend to add more to the existing robot.
The deputy director working on behalf of the Middle East Media Research Institute, did provide a small explanation of how the process could possibly work out, in order to retake the town of Mosul. Mosul is a Northern Iraqi country that had been overtaken by the ISIS terrorist group back in 2014.
