It’s a curiously conventional, yet troubling picture. A room in a far flung corner of Afghanistan where a serious speech is taking place to an audience that looks part ideological, part interested; some are just impoverished, hoping for a fast occupation.
At the front of the room stands an Afghan recently back from fighting in Syria and aiming to recruit other Afghans to fight alongside him for ISIS.
“Brothers, I’m here to inform you,” the recruiter begins, “regarding the mujahideen in Syria.”
All faces are concealed in the footage, yet the motivations are clear. This appears to be part of ISIS’ first moves into Afghanistan, a play to strengthen their position for the fight in Iraq and Syria by vacuuming up dissatisfied former Taliban combatants — or even pupils just trying to find a cause.
But it is a troubling move yet. There is no lack of battle-hardened militants here and as NATO leaves, the Taliban seems powerful, if a little fractured. To top it off, the likelihood of peace talks with the Afghan authorities could alienate a number of the group’s more extreme components.
His message is generally ideological. “Jihad is currently obligatory not only in Afghanistan, but in addition in a number of other areas on earth,” the recruiter tells the room. “The Christians and Jews haven’t only attacked Afghanistan, they also have attacked Muslims in Syria, Iraq and Palestine. So Jihad is obligatory on us in these areas.”
His reception is mixed, but to one crowd member the ideological appeal is clear. “My aim is to fight infidels…” the man says, “…in Syria, or if they ask me to in Afghanistan, I will.”
Another man says he’d choose to stay home and go to a university, however he’s enticed by the recruiter’s offer of cash. “I definitely desire the cash,” he says, “but will remain here and expect peace comes.”
Concerns are growing about how ISIS may grow into Afghanistan.
Ghani included: “They’ve — it is among the very well endowed financing — well-funded organizations. As well as the techniques are propagating.”
“This is something everyone is keeping an extremely close eye on. Afghanistan authorities can be involved… Pakistan authorities are concerned,” he said, before adding that disaffected Taliban might additionally be brought to the group.
Weeks after, it appeared they were in fact working for ISIS.
Khorasan — is better known as a revolutionary element of the al-Qaeda faction of al-Nusra, in Syria, where many Afghans fight.
At the assembly our cameraman was allowed to film, the militants made application forms that bear the emblem of the Islamic State — the name the group chooses to be called — although they seemed to be utilizing the group’s old nomenclature of ISIS on the files.
While these recruiters seek to bring combatants to Syria, their existence in Afghanistan at this critical time will fuel fears that the nation remains vulnerable to be used as a refuge for a new wave of extremists.

It would be a great thing if Anonymous would find background information,by hacking and exposing, about the Rex 84 bill and Jade Helm 15 because there is an ongoing threat online of Martial Law and of war on American soil. Also ongoing threats online of FEMA Camps we will all be placed in when martial law breaks out, the red, blue and yellow list our names will be on. The RFIV CHIP seems like reality already…If America knows about it before it starts, we have a fighting chance. Please, if you guys can clear this stuff up for us and finally prove it, that would be great. No one knows, or does know if its just a bunch of conspiracy theories or not.
Haha Afghanistan should just allow Pakistan to conduct COIN operations on its soil to get rid of these terrorists once and for all. The Pakistani Army and LEAs in One massive and 2 supportive ongoing operations has simultaneously killed over 4,000 Taliban since the beginning of 2014 with the most recent strikes (4 days ago) killing over 100 Taliban. No way in hell is ISIS going to mess with Pakistan at a time like this, especially since the PA’s military strength grows by the hours with indigenously developed unmanned drones and Chinese artillery ‘gifts’.
All these idiots should watch out. they could end up isolated and fenced in by a belt of radioactive land if all they do is fuck with the world.
