Nick Cannon, the celebrity known best for his roles in television comedy shows, has released adeeply profound video about this year’s election cycle.
In the video embedded below, Cannon performs a spoken word rap poem outside of a polling station, where he rejects every major candidate and the electoral process as a whole. The poem is titled “Too Broke To Vote” and discusses how voting for any of the major candidates will not change poverty, war, or the system of corruption currently in place.
In the first few lines of his poem, Cannon seems to express the desire to have no “president” or “ruler” at all.
“Nobody for President. That’s my campaign slogan. We got money for wars but can’t feed our homeless. The government is hopeless. It’s like a reality show. The Real lives of the House Liars,” Cannon says.
He continues: “Voting for office is like picking out which gun you wanna get shot with.”
He makes it clear that all of the options are untrustworthy, despite their different marketing schemes. Cannon isn’t even “feeling the Bern.”
“But I ain’t feeling the Bern. And hell naw I’ll never get Trumped. The Clintons had they chance with me, they the reason my cousin still locked up,” he says. It is unclear whether this is in reference to the Clinton’s role in proliferatingmass incarceration, but nevertheless expresses a clear sentiment: presidents are not the solution to America’s problems.
He also makes it clear he does not support the Democrats or the Republicans, rejecting the two-party duopoly.
“They got y’all confused with these views from Republicans and Democrats, liberal or conservative, man I ain’t none of that,” Cannon declares.
The end of the poem is extremely powerful, revealing Cannon knows far more about global events than he has ever let on:
“Go for the gold cuz that’s who makes the rules. And all this pageantry is just designed for fools. They gonna give you the one they choose. Too big to fail, too rich to lose. And I’m still too broke to vote. So how do we fix it then? Give her away. In the End is where it begins. So I vote we return the country back to its original owners: the Native Americans.”
Hopefully, this is a new era in the work of Nick Cannon. More celebrities and others in the public eye must speak out with radical positions; for better or worse, their opinions carry an immense amount of weight with the average person. Instead of just endorsing a candidate, Cannon has made a bolder and more principled statement.
Unfortunately, Cannon’s groundbreaking poem was completely ignored by the mainstream media, who seemed more concerned with stirring up drama between him and his ex-wife Mariah Carey. Cannon shot back at the media, pointing out he is on great terms with his ex, and that news outlets were more concerned with a nonexistent fluff story than the political statement he made earlier in the week with “Too Broke To Vote.”

Haha, we need more anonymous now more than ever. But not in media form, we need them in physical fashion. We need to stand up for us. It is funny we live in a country that was created off the idea of freedom, by oppressing and suppressing a truly free people. It has and always will be white America. I have said so many times in so many ways on so many different things how delusional we are as a people. A PEOPLE, a multitude of people given all the rights and told to feel blessed with what we have, but just like black people being pushed into the hoods and told to stay there while us white citizens are more privileged than ever, look at what our country is doing to us. They cant release criminals pictures or IDs when the crimes happen, UNLESS they are black or Hispanic. Odd huh? just I am too tired to rant right now. This is just A SINGLE way of thinking. Just imagine what YOU could think of and whats really right if you just open your eyes and see past the filter. Its like we are built to add filters to everything. That’s why everybody loves them, because they can change the real picture to look like whatever they want to feel. Which is no longer reality. Think of what this might be replying too. Take it in context and apply different ways of thinking to everything you see. Better yet don’t believe the media. Believe the people. The individuals. But don’t believe just one. Its not about being politically correct, trump is right. Its not about being conservative, or republican, democratic or liberal, its about being literal. Its about being wise, not intelligent. We are so wrapped around this idea that intelligence is key that true genius, wisdom has become only an idea that just one man once was. Albert Einstein. Intelligence is only whats learned. But what you learned has been put through many bias’, run all the way to the end of the chain to end up being learned by you. Humans tend to lie a little/exaggerate. Just like Christians say the bible is 100% real and true although there are many versions that have been translated many times and re-written through history at least once every 50 years. But tell me how that book or those scrolls are indefinitely real, but how a first edition copy of 20,000 leagues under the sea could be fake. It is just like College and university in America, I cant believe nobody can see what it really is. What is school to children? Really just a waste of time learning simple things necessary in elementary school but then through middle and high school just wasting more time until the appropriated age that we think a human should be working and able to live on their own. Yet we know nothing of what being an adult is and have learned nothing through school on what life will be like after it. Now think about college. What is the point of paying for something that you still honestly have to go through elective classes for? YOU ARE PAYING FOR EDUCATION PERIOD. Think of the system they have created. To allow you to borrow money. To have you been even more in debt if not collecting your money, or all the old money left with our parents who think its necessary to do good in life when a bachelors degree doesn’t do anything in our society anymore. what is the point of jobs that require 5 years on the job experience but schooling doesn’t matter although where are you supposed to get the experience if that job in that field is listed like that for a reason. So that most all jobs that you search for in that field require the same thing. its like, we believe that only older generation knew what work was. when you could work on a farm and in this day and age already own 5 houses and a trailer park and act like young adults should be able to do that at 16. but then what is the real point of college if college really was never even prominent or relevant in the job industry. well more time wasted because in 4 more years they’ll be ready to listen and do whatever it takes being a slave to the grind to get paid. there are some professions that people appreciate for its artistic value and actually make money at it, but then look at how many dropouts both college and primary school have succeeded more than most the people in America combined EVER will. I mean. theres so much I can rant about that I can only rant and share and talk to people about. EVERYBODY SAYS THAT NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE SO NO POINT IN TRYING… WELL NOTHING IS EVER GOING TO CHANGE BECAUSE NOBODY IS GOING TO TRY.

You need to look deep inside at what Obama has done, and see the little things and how much they have helped us like even opening up to cuba. Think of how much of an advantage that would give us in time of war to have them NOT as enemies anymore. that we can actually have intel on them instead them giving intel on us and being in range of any overseas missiles. Theres so much that the people are missing just because your all ignorant assholes and need to get over the fact that your skin colour only makes you more susceptible to cancer. that which has already infested your brain. Keep thinking its the towel heads that are the real enemy. Keep looking at the planted pictures and mis-information to protect our assets across the seas and act like its us and our troops who are helping and in a bad situation. We are destroying a people and a religion with our greed and hate. And the world does not like that. How long do you think Japan has been waiting for its redemption? How much do you think we have against the old axis powers nowadays? Obama has kept us on somewhat good terms with Putin. Putin is just tired of our made up shit that he can see right through. If a government is going to allow corruption to continue there are several things that they deserve: Destruction, execution, torture, and ironic situations.
