The United States government agency responsible for the civilian space program, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), has said its mission to the planet Mars will help preserve the human race.
NASA made this known at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), on the eve of premiering the movie, The Martian. The Martian movie tells the story of astronauts who blast off from the planet Mars and leave behind one crew member. Presumed dead, and with only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded astronaut must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet.
NASA said it got associated with the movie, because the movie will help boost public awareness of the actual human mission to Mars currently being developed by the agency. Also, it will give the public a rough idea about elements of the mission.
When answering questions from members of the public who had the opportunity to visit the KSC facility, former Astronaut and Director of KSC, Bob Cabana, assured that preparation to put a human crew onto the planet is progressing in development. We credit the Observer for the featured interview.
“NASA is on a journey to Mars. Already from these shores out here, robotic precursors have launched to the red planet and they are roaming it right now learning and exploring. But right here at Kennedy Space Center from launch pad 39b—right out here, we are preparing to launch humans to Mars. We are preparing to send humans beyond our home planet once again and it is absolutely awesome,” Cabana said.
The equipment needed for the journey is very important, as the success or failure of the mission will primarily depend on it. According to Cabana, all the equipment that is needed for the journey is currently being assembled, and despite the fact that there were some initial challenges, engineers are working around the clock to solve them.
“In the Vehicle Assembly Building right behind us, high bay 3 has been totally gutted of all the shuttle infrastructure and we’re putting in the new platforms to support a rocket that’s going to be more capable than the Saturn V—NASA’s Space Launch System. On top of that is going to be the Orion Crew vehicle that’s being built right here at KSC in the Operation and Checkout Building. That is all happening right now,” he said.
However, the hard-hitting question came. Somebody wanted to know the exact and real motive behind NASA’s dangerous and expensive journey to a planet we know little about, and whether there is likely to be a repercussion. NASA’s Planetary Science Division Director, Jim Green, stepped in to answer the question.
“We’re explorers. This is a huge step for us. I see several of you with phones and computers in particular. I’m sure you always backup your computers. We actually need a place to back up the human race and I’m serious about this. You know, the dinosaurs didn’t have a space program,” he said.
Green further expressed his uncertainty about the Earth’s survival, revealing the real motive behind the impending journey to the unknown.
“We know an enormous amount about our environment and the environment in the solar system. There are, indeed, near-Earth objects that are very large that are going to impact the earth. It’s not a matter of if; it’s a matter of when. In the last 5 billion years there have been five mass extinctions. If the human race is to survive on this planet we actually have to move. That doesn’t mean we’re all going to go but we’re going to have to be able to backup the human race,” he said.

Why is this artikel just about NASA? the Mars-one project is doing this for a long time, why promoot the US government (NASA) when they obviously do this to be there before MARS-ONE. few years ago they said it wll be 50 years before we will send a mission to mars, and now they are in a hurry? WHY????
I would have expected more from this site then promoting the US Government……
Mars one is going nowhere before SpaceX. Their plan is essentially to buy a rocket from SpaceX,and since SpaceX is already planning to put people on mars, I don’t see how they could get people there before SpaceX does. Also, the whole recruiting thing was really weird because they were already deciding finalists before meeting the people and they don’t seem to have much money to even buy a rocket. “It may sound exciting, but the company has done nothing to suggest any of this is remotely possible within the given time frame.” No RnD, no rocket, not much funding. I think SpaceX or a national gov will probably be the first ones to put humans on mars
Actual why thy insist to send people to send Mars, Is their any specific reason behind????? Nor is their any serious problem on our planet earth??, what people will do on that dirty desert (Mars). This is a irrelevant to our subject, waste of money, what is not in planet earth?? Evergreen I here nowhere else. Better to preserve humanity in native planet. I ask you NASA!!
Oh come on
They (national academy of space actors) have never ever been anywhere past the themosphere.
Moon landings hehe.Is there really people out there who actually believe that shite.
Besides, why look at Mars. Our leaders and their minions are doing a damned fine job fu#*ing the planet we already have.
Mars….lmao
We’d go & explore the Sth Pole instead, but hey,its illegal apparently.Historical,Mortal enemies can miraculously agree on this particular treaty.
Fuck off they’ve naw even been to the moon hahahaa
