While at the Anastasia Beach Complex, in Protaras, Cyprus, when he couldn’t find his two-year-old daughter Lillie, Daniel Mann begun to panic.
But after a frantic search he found the toddler… according to the Mirror, she was in the arms of a stranger.
“We (he and his partner) were frantically searching for about 40 minutes. I could feel my stomach churning the longer it went on,” the 28-year-old from County Durham said.
He added: “We found her in the arms of an Eastern European woman who was walking towards a car park.”
The incident happened in August last year, at the same resort that came under fire this week after holidaymakers said there was a gang of kidnappers operating there.
The accusation was made after a group who were allegedly speaking to children were confronted. Thomas Cook has since moved 16 families, who booked with them, from the resort.
A Bulgarian man was arrested, but was let go due to lack of evidence. The owners of the hotel, Tsokkos, dismissed the claims and said that there was no attempted child abductions at the complex.
