Several years ago, the city of New Carlisle completely rid itself of their police department, despite critics claiming that evil-doers and criminals would arrive in droves and drive up crime rates in the area. The opposite scenario occurred.
After getting rid of the police department, the city had contracted the sheriff’s department to deal with any emergency threats. This minimalistic approach has been reduced even further; the city council has voted to cut deputy contracts from $500,000 to $300,000, yearly.
“Anyone can figure it out and they can do the math — with only two deputies working, it does not give you 24/7 police coverage in the city,” said a frustrated Clark County Sheriff, Gene Kelly.
The residents of New Carlisle seem fine with this lack of coverage, with residents filling out a form on their own at the sheriff’s department if a contracted deputy wasn’t on duty.
“This is going to be a very dramatic and drastic change that people will see a response time that they’ve never seen before,” Kelly said. But City Manager, Kim Jones, says the city will make do, as filling out a report immediately isn’t actually necessary for non-emergencies.

Great idea
That report is quite short and doesn’t contain any useful information. Can we have some statistics?
Is it still plagiarism when you just leave out most of the article.

Why don’t they try that in a major city and see what happens
The reason for this departure from the norm has nothing to do with trying to get away from any “draconian semblance of a police state” like they would want you to believe.
The city manager is an incompetent boob who can’t balance a checkbook. The reason for no cop = no money. That is the plain and simple truth, the city manager screwed up and now the city can’t afford cops, as well as busses, shelters, parks, a computer server for city services, and dozens of other infrastructure necessities.
This article will shed a little light on the matter.

Way to tell the whole story guys.
