How NOT to respond to a terrorist attack.
If you haven’t yet heard, a mass shooting took place at the gay bar Pulse in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, leaving at least 50 people dead and more than 50 wounded. According to officials, Omar Mateen, a Muslim-American, is the suspected gunman. The tragic massacre has now gone on record as the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Understandably, people have been mourning the incident, questioning what spurs one to commit such a heinous act. But one individual – the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, no less – has used the incident as one more plug for his campaign.
Shortly after the mass shooting made news, Donald Trump took to Twitter.
Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 12, 2016
Yes, the presidential contender reveled in congratulations “for being right on radical Islamic terrorism.” Of course, he followed the self-congratulatory sentiment with “I don’t want congrats, I want toughness and vigilance. We must be smart!”
Immediately, the business tycoon received negative backlash from Twitter users. Clearly, people don’t appreciate him using the massacre as a public relations stunt.
@realDonaldTrump congrats on being a joke

.@realDonaldTrump You’re congratulating yourself because 50 people are dead this morning in a horrific tragedy?
— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) June 12, 2016
@realDonaldTrump You’re crowing about congrats because 50 people were murdered. WTF is wrong with you?
— Emma Kennedy (@EmmaKennedy) June 12, 2016
Others adopted Hillary Clinton’s tactic of telling Donald Trump to delete his account:
.@realDonaldTrump Delete your account.

It is a time for mourning in the United States. Not only is a crooked war criminal campaigning against a bigoted, sexist businessman for president, the worst shooting in modern U.S. history just took place at a gay nightclub. And, of course, the incident will do nothing to help dissolve Islamophobia in the United States, as the man responsible pledged his allegiance to ISIS moments before the attack.
The most important takeaway from this article should be this: the American people are more powerful united than divided, and mass shootings tend to ripple throughout the entire world and crinkle relations through fear. In the wake of this tragedy, it is now more important than ever that people band together and demand justice, holding fast to the notion that ISIS is an extremist group – like the KKK – and that love, always, will prevail.

Hae was right about Islamic terrorism so congrats to him. Quit nitpicking everu word and read between the lines.
I’m not so sure if this is an actual news article, or a blog post. The piece itself comes across as bias and opinionated, as well as disconnected.
It came from the onion. Enough said.
