Life sometimes is stranger than fiction; if there is any place for the Force to awaken, it seems Ukraine would be the perfect place. It already has its own cast of Star Wars characters running for office.
Proof that Ukrainian elections are just as fictional as the movie series, one of these poorly conceived actors has actually won the seat he was running for… No, I’m not talking about Petro Poroshenko…
The Darth Sith Lord himself who decided to destroy all who opposed him via violent seizing of power from the Old Republic, after forming his own parallel military of brainwashed fascists with claims that he had to destroy the “separatists”… still not talking about Petro Poroshenko… Emperor Palpatine himself!
His evil stature has clearly been outshone by the president, as he has only won himself a city council seat.
The mayoral candidate for Odessa, Aleksandr Borovik shared the shocking news:
“A cartoon comrade of Darth Vader – Palpatine – received 54.4 percent of votes in Poselok Kotovskogo [one of Odessa’s neighborhoods]. Palpatin Dmitry, born in 1990, who works as an emperor at ‘LLC Palpatine Finance Group’ makes it to the city council on the Trust Affairs party list,” Borovik said.
“This is beyond my understanding,” the politician added, saying that he nevertheless respected the choice of those who voted. “People, what’s wrong with you?” Borovik wondered, in bewilderment.
It should be noted that Odessa was the site of a horrendous massacre of supporters of the last presidency at the hands of fascists. Rather than be forced to elect serious politician from a party which had caused this attrocity, they chose to elect a caricature that was representative of their current politicians.
Darth Vader, Yoda, Padme Amidala and Chewbacca are some of the other candidates registered with Ukraine’s Central Election Committee. Chewbacca was arrested for campaigning on election day, while Darth Alekseevich Vader (his real name) has run several times for a number of posts, including the presidency, but has never won because he refuses to show his face so that he could be identified.
