During the Tokyo Motor Show, Yamaha had pulled a big one out of their box of secrets and goodies. Yamaha had showcased their “Superbike Riding Robot”. The robot, in which they dubbed Motobot, is a humanoid in which is constantly improving to give champion racers a run for their money.
Humans has mixed emotions about the realm of robotics to start with. As we look around at our technology growing, and robotics are making a presentation at every convention under the sun. Humans are fascinated with the technology and the several uses of robotic technology. However, just like there is a good side to this, there is always a bad. Robotic technology is becoming a commodity for corporations everywhere, which is replacing human workers and putting several out of a job. Such jobs that humans are being replaced with robots consists of Doctors, lawyers, architects, Fast-Food, and the more popular Self-Driving vehicles.
Yamaha has produced the Motobot which is a product of a very intense R&D effort in the robotics technology world, and if that wasn’t enough, Yamaha is aiming to have Motobot to be able to ride any non-modified motorcycle. For those who ride motorcycles, you know this is no easy task to accomplish.
Yamaha has released a video in which showcases the Motobot riding its own superbike with ease. During the video, the robot was talking in a childish voice that had called out world champion Valentino Rossi by stating “I am improving my skills every day. I was created to surpass you.” However, unlike other major stars, Motobot is humble and even realizes that in order to even keep up with the champion, Motobot must learn from the master.
Motobot has indeed caught every speed lover’s attention for the ultimate battle between man and machine on a superbike. However, just like every other parent, Yamaha wants to raise their child even further by working with the bike as well as Motobot in order to achieve a top speed of 200 kph.
The major corporation, Yamaha, is aiming to utilize this new state-of-the-art technology in which is to pioneer new lines of business. However, it is leaving hundreds scratching their heads and wondering what are they talking about? Are we about to see the dawn of a brand new MotoGP?

Japan is one the leaders in robotic shit, there’s no doubt but this was a great surprise coming from YAMAHA!, soon Terminator Salvation will be real eh?!.
Oh dude, made my day! 😀
they should invent a robot that could fuck their wives better than them!
The most obvious use of this robot is to gather non-objective data about the effects of bike modifications during R&D. You would not need a dynamometer or a human’s opinion to say, “that has better power, performance, handling, etc.” You could be sure that a racer’s bike was performing to their exact specifications before every race. Dealerships could finally say, “bring your bike to us for repairs because only we can get it back to the exact manufacturer’s specifications.” There are lots of uses of such a robot and none of them involve a Robotic MotoGP franchise.
