Here’s What Women Jihadists Want From Young Girls In The Islamic State

15

After releasing a guide for young Muslim mothers advising them to introduce jihad to their children in a fun way by having them play with toy guns and warning them on the topic of raising mujahid children, the Islamic State has come up with another guide – this time aimed at young girls, mainly teenagers.

Entitled Women of the Islamic State: Manifesto and Case Study, the document is not an official Islamic State policy, but guidelines put together by IS’ women supporters. It was distributed on jihadist forums by a media wing of the Al-Khanssaa Brigade – an IS branch dubbed as the jihadists’ female policing brigade.

The text is divided into three sections. The first is a rebuttal of Western culture. How the women live in jihadists-controlled parts of Syria and Iraq is explained in the second section. The third section focuses on women’s lives in IS-held territories vis-à-vis Arab states. Here’re some of the guidelines:

  • A woman must stay home and remain hidden and veiled. She must leave the house only in exceptional circumstances.
  • Young girls must be married by 9, while the most pure girls will be married by 16 or 17 while they are still young and active. Young men will not be more than 20 in those glorious generations.
  • The ideal education for girls between 7 and 15 features religious studies, knitting and cooking.
  • Women are banned from visiting beauty salons, wearing fashionable clothes and jewellery, shaving and piercing, as these practices are inspired by the devil.
  • The ideal Islamic community should not be caught up with trying to uncover the secrets of nature and reaching the peaks of architectural sophistication. They should instead concentrate on the implementation of sharia law and the spreading of Islam.

Interestingly, there is no mention of the abuses of jihadist militants against women and children, who are kidnapped, raped, tortured and forced to convert to Islam.

According to Quilliam, a UK-based counter-terrorism think tank who has translated the text, the document gives a deeper insight about the mindset of hundreds and thousands of women who willingly join IS ranks. “Just as they have sexed up what it is to be a women living in the so-called caliphate, this document dresses it down. Women, it is unambiguously stated, are homemakers and mothers,” he adds.

Quilliam states that the manifesto’s intentions are to spell out the role of Muslim women and the life which is desired for them, to clarify the realities of life and the hallowed existence of women in the Islamic State, in Iraq and in al-Sham, and to refute the rumours that detractors advance against it, using evidence supported and experienced by women living there, and to expose the falsity of the Tawheed in the Arabian Peninsula.

    • ISIS doesnt represent Islam I mean thats like saying some other brand of serial killers and terrorists represent their religion too only because they say so …….. Funny really how people would believe terrorists to be the most truthful person in saying that they belong to a certain religion but would consider every other thing they say as a lie ……

  1. it seems that they are willing to live by a ‘dark age’ mindset. what is rather funny about these guidelines is ‘The ideal Islamic community should not be caught up with trying to uncover the secrets of nature’ yet the weapons they use say otherwise, how are these created without uncovering “secrets” of nature? it seems to me that they want no advancement of the human race. or very limited controlled advancement. they want to keep the status quo. and keep it in the dark ages. this is against freedom. not to mention that they are against western culture. it seems like they are on a crusade, and ISIS are the templars.

  2. I do not doubt the existence or content of this abomination.
However, I am unconvinced that it was written voluntarily, by women only.
After all, how perfect this propaganda is for I.S. if it is seen & believed to be written by women! That seems to pull the ground from under the feet of anyone saying Islam oppresses women: “Look! It’s what women themselves want! Proof!”
    But IS it??
Who, outside of I.S, knows for sure who really wrote it?

My other big problem with the document is: I’m sure there were women involved in its creation – but as the article says, they are women who have themselves rejected the prescribed lifestyle, instead gaining more freedom than most women there could dream of, by moving into the mainly-male sphere of a military & violent lifestyle.
This affords RELATIVE physical freedom; the experience of feeling SOME power; opportunity for healthy, strong young people to use their muscles, challenge their bodies, the freedom to run in some circumstances and generally expend their natural energy, vitality, thirst for excitement – as well as the powerful intoxicant of having a purpose, a common cause, and of belonging & feeling important to a degree.
So even if such women are indeed genuinely writing this poison – they are not writing with themselves in mind to follow the insufferable restrictions advocated!
They are for OTHER women & girls!
Altogether, I put little credence in the claim of the texts having been written by representative Muslim women at all.

    • Any mind, whether man or woman, can become twisted and confused under the influence and spell of other confused, twisted and perverted minds, and such a mind can justify anything it wants to.

So if women ARE genuinely writing this poison, they are not representative of the majority; nor are they writing for themselves to be bound by the insufferable rules – they’re telling OTHER women & girls how THEY must live.
I do not give any credence to the notion that the majority of Muslim women are having a voice heard whatsoever.
    Useful propaganda.

  4. You’d think that when important articles like this are posted to reveal the truth, people would see that they are about ISIS exclusively. How do people manage to convince themselves that such actions represent the whole of Islam?! That’s irresponsible reading and just spreads hate for no reason. These things need to be known and spread, but not a skewed version! The article very clearly states that it represents the caliphate, who most Muslims on this planet are strictly opposed to. It’s not that hard.

    • It may seem “not that hard” to you, yet it is apparently impossible for approximately a third of the population and extremely difficult for another 20% or so.

Fears of the imagination rule over facts for a great many people. And their self-imposed blindness severely limits their ability to read or listen to reason and arrive at understanding.
