1,200 Spec Ops to Infiltrate Seven States, Two “Hostile”, In Jade Helm Military Exercise

1,200 military special ops personnel are set to infiltrate seven Southwestern states as part of a controversial domestic “military training” in which soldiers will operate undetected among civilians. One wonders how this sort of training is helpful, unless one planned on occupying large cities and suppressing public dissent. It should also be noted that American operatives are unlikely to be able to blend in and “infiltrate” anywhere other than America… and mybe parts of Europe.

Known as Operation Jade Helm, it begins in July and is scheduled to last for eight weeks. Soldiers will operate in and around towns in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Some of them will be dropped in by planes, carrying weapons loaded with blanks in what military officials have dubbed Realistic Military Training. This level of “realism” seems designed to scare civilians, rather than to train any particular skill-set…

But with residents of the entire states of Texas and Utah dubbed ‘hostile’ for the purposes of the exercises, one wonders what circumstance this “exercise” is supposed to prepare the soldiers for…

Freedom Outpost headlined ‘Operation Jade Helm—military trains for martial law in American South-west’, and many other alternative news sites have also urged the American public to view this with cynicism. The Houston Chronicle reports that, among the planned exercises, soldiers will attempt to operate undetected among civilian populations.

Residents, in turn, will be asked to report “suspicious activity” (my neighbor keeps bringing his dog round to poo on my lawn…. he’s suspicious!) in order to gauge the effectiveness of the soldiers.

Sheriff’s deputies told the Houston Chronicle that they would inform residents living near where aircraft were slated to create disturbances and drop soldiers, civilian and military vehicles will barrel through and where blank rounds would be fired.

Jim Stewart with the Brazos County, Texas Sheriff’s Office told the Chronicle that such exercises are far from anything new.

‘Special ops for years have trained off-post for years, where they go out and have folks that are role players out on the economy,’ said the Army intelligence veteran. ‘They’ll have a scenario they’ll be following and they’ll interact with these role players as if they’re in another country.’

However, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command themselves say Jade Helm is different.

‘The size and scope of Jade Helm sets this one apart. To stay ahead of the environmental challenges faced overseas, Jade Helm will take place across seven states,’ the USASOC wrote in a March 24 release.

‘The diverse terrain in these states replicates areas Special Operations Soldiers regularly find themselves operating in overseas.’ So why not…train overseas? Don’t tell me the most expensive military in the world is having budget problems.

The military has also reacted to widespread fear of the operation by calling some alternative coverage of the ‘martial law’ drills alarmist and inaccurate. But, but, all I’m doing is quoting you and I’m feeling alarmed… stop being an alarmist, USASOC.

‘That notion was proposed by a few individuals who are unfamiliar with how and why USASOC conducts training exercises,’ USASOC spokesman Army Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria told Stripes.

‘This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for Army Special Operations Forces because they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice.’ That’s all you have to say about it? You could say that about any run-of-the-mill exercise, but it’s not even vaguely applicable to one where soldiers get para-trooped into seven states, proceed to infiltrate the local populace, purposefully create distrust among locals who are asked to snitch on any “suspicious” people…. While being able to fire blanks willy-nilly, scaring “hostile” old people and little kids all over the place.

It should be noted that Jade Helm will call upon the cooperation of several other forces, inculding the police and DHS, which is unlike most other millitary exercises. Also, the seven states that had been chosen as hostile… not surprising.
