Indian Kankaria Adventure Park in Ahmedabad saw a joyride go horribly wrong in July, when a park ride crashed.
Two people were confirmed deceased and a further 26 others were injured after the Discovery Pendulum ride was filled to maximum capacity and the main shaft broke. What happened next was a horrific scene of people sent flying to the ground.
The incident took place on July 14, with a police investigation taking place to see what caused the crash, and if the theme park held a correct licence to operate the ride.

Vijay Nehra, the commissioner of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) told reporters that, “The AMC fire department conducted swift disaster response operations. The heads of departments of pediatrics, ortho, and surgery reported to the hospital and the injured are being treated.”
Most of the riders were women and children, however the two victims who died as a result were identified as 24-year-old Manali Rajwadi, and 22-year-old Mohammad Javed.

According to the Chief Fire Officer of Ahmedabad, Rajesh Bhatt told the media “the ride dropped from at least 20 feet and revellers sitting on the impact side sustained severe injuries while others have sustained minor injuries.”
Since the incident, six people, including the managing director of the company operating the theme park have been charged for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
