Monsanto is being sued over a cancer-causing agent found in the San Diego Bay. The City of San Diego is launching its lawsuit against Monsanto and its subsidiaries, alleging that large amounts of PCB have been leaked into the bay for years. [1]
PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) have been associated with cancer and other health risks and hazards since the 1930s. Monsanto has acknowledged the health risks in an internal report, according to the lawsuit, suggesting that the risks outweighed Monsanto’s greed for profit.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, PCBs “cause a variety of adverse health effects.” They go on to name serious non-cancerous effects in animals; such effects affect their immune, reproductive, endocrine and nervous system, and that the risk to humans is equally great with the added “potential carcinogenic effects.”[2]
The complaint was filed on March 16, noting in that “PCBs manufactured by Monsanto have been found in Bay sediments and water and have been identified in tissues of fish, lobsters, and other marine life in the Bay. PCB contamination in and around the Bay affects all San Diegans and visitors who enjoy the Bay, who reasonably would be disturbed by the presence of a hazardous, banned substance in the sediment, water, and wildlife.” [3]

Monsanto is an evil corporation that needs to be destroyed. They have destroyed so many family owned farms with their corporate lawyers and “payed for” judges; they are the embodiment of corporate greed.
