She suffered from PTSD, Dissociative Disorder and drugs and alcohol. On their own, these problems would have greatly reduced her lifespan, but the police in Georgia have decided to rush in to be the primary cause of her demise.
It seems that Channel 2 Action News and the Atlanta Journal Constitution have published a piece earlier this month that reveals the truth of this matter. The horrific events that led to her murder is reported in detail, and explains why these corrupt cops got to get away with barely a slap on the wrist.
In June 2010, Caroline Small, a mother, was at a mall lot inside her car. Somebody apparently saw her “doing drugs” and reported her to the police. The police showed up, and Small took off in a hurry. The police were hungry for blood and gave chase.
Small was travelling at a measly 35mph during the entire chase, and her tires were blown by spike strips. She was trapped between two cruisers and a utility pole. Her car was completely imbolized.
Small was clearly having a mental breakdown, for she continued stepping on the accelerator despite the fact that her car was unable to move more than a short distance.
State Patrol Trooper Jonathan Malone runs behind the car and tries to get her out. Malone soon realises that Glynn County officers Sgt Robert C. Sasser and Officer Michael T. Simpson were drawing their service weapons and pointing them right at him, though pointed towards Small’s head. Towards the unarmed woman’s head.
Malone pleaded with the officers to let him get Small out of the vehicle.
“Let me get out there and get her out,” Malone calls out to the other officers, according to the GBI audio transcripts.
“Hold on, hold on,” one unknown officer responds.
“If she moves the car, I’m going to shoot her,” Simpson says.
Seconds later, Sasser and Simpson unleash a volley of gunfire into the face of Caroline Small.
After the shooting, Sasser and Simpson can be heard discussing their kill.
“Where did you hit her?” Simpson asks, according to a GBI transcript.
“I hit her right in the face,” Sasser says.
“I watched the bridge of her nose…I pulled the trigger and I watched it hit her at the same time I think I fired,” Simpson says.
EMT arrives later, but Simpson waves him away knowing full well that he had killed the woman after shooting her in the head. However, Small was still fighting for her life…. And the EMT could have brought her the medical attention she needed had he not been waved away. She would struggle for another few weeks before she passed on.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Channel 2 Action News investigation of the case found that:
- Glynn County police officers interfered with the GBI’s investigation from the start, seeking to protect the officers.
- The department tampered with the crime scene and created misleading evidence that was shown to the grand jury.
- The local district attorney shared the state’s evidence with the officers nearly two months before the grand jury convened and cut an unusual deal with them just before it met.
Glynn County police were treated favourably while the other police agencies were “investigating them”. Unfortunately the jury were convinced that the murderers were really fearful for their lives… as though the woman whom they had already trapped in her car would cause them more than a small amount of trouble. And why did they not even think about using Tasers??
Jury member Bryon Bennett has come out admitting that he had regretted making that decision: “I felt like I let that lady down,” he said. “I felt like they killed that lady. They didn’t give her a chance.”
One of the GBI investigators who supervised the criminal investigation into the shooting told the AJC that the shooting was unjust.
“This is the worst one I’ve ever investigated,” said Mike McDaniel, a retired GBI agent. “I don’t think it’s a good shoot. I don’t think it’s justified.”
Even the lead investigator says that this was unjustified, yet these two cops are still out on the street, “protecting and serving.”
Yet another unarmed, helpless person gets shot by the police…. and NOTHING happens to them. This is getting ridiculous.

I live in Detroit were the police are scared to come into our neighborhoods for emergency calls but even they, who really do have to fear for there lives rarely do things like this. At some point we as a country have to decide that enough is enough and rise up and change things. I used to love my home, amd even risked my life to fight for it and its interests but lately with all this shit coming to light it feels like that risk, amd the lives that friends and brothers gave up to protect our way of life have been shit on over and over and that pisses me off. Im sure im not the only one that feels that way, but damn we need to do something to change this country before its nothing.
Somebody should find those cops alone in the streets at night and hang them on a pole.

I’m generally anti-violence and somewhat anti-cop with most videos, but I would have shot the woman myself had I been in a similar situation. She was putting EVERYONE’S life at risk by her erratic driving and ramming of the car. You don’t do that shit, under the influence or not, unless you’re asking to be shot. Yeah… pity those w/ mental illnesses and that may also be a parent, but that doesn’t take personal responsibility away NOR does it mean cops should use less force than with anyone else. I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t see who was in the driver’s seat. All I knew was that the person was driving crazy and ramming my cars after many, many attempts to get the person to stop.
