He insists by comparing all aspects of our lives to an image or people showcasing the best aspects of their lives onto social media, we let them completely overpower our sense of logic. The feeling of lack and dissatisfaction, self-inflicted guilt and frustration that we feel when scrolling through our newsfeeds or our friends’ timelines often results from comparing our true reality to our virtual friends’ idealized, perfectly Instagramed realities.
