After a global call to arms, the Anonymous campaign against the global banking industry, OpIcarus seems to be gaining major momentum, as eight more financial institutions have been taken down after the initial attack on the Central Bank of Greece – followed by a similar DDoS attack on the Central Bank of Cyprus.
According to a video released in conjunction with OpIcarus, the attack on Bank of Greece marked the beginning of a “30-day campaign against central bank sites across the world.” This massive push, according to the video, aims to “strike at the heart of [the] empire by once again throw[ing] a wrench into the machine.”
In some of the most recent attacks over the weekend, hackers reportedly targeted the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, the Dutch Central Bank, the Central Bank of Maldives, and Guernsey Financial Services Commission, according to the official @OpIcarus Twitter account.

The National Bank of Panama and the Central Bank of Kenya were also reportedly targeted a day later, according to hacking news publicationHackRead.

What began as an Anonymous operation has now become a joint op between Anonymous and the GhostSquadHackers, with reported GSH member, s1ege tweeting about taking the Central Bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina offline and providing a screenshot to verify.

The twitter account @BannedOffline also reported the Central Bank of Mexico had succumbed to a DDoS attack by the hacking collective.

Anonymous has released a list of institutions the collective plans to target, which is divided into four sections; websites associated with the U.S. Federal Reserve, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), sites owned by the World Bank, and over 150 sites associated with national banks around the globe.
Thus far, in less than a week, OpIcarus hackers have now hit ten of the financial institutions they’ve listed in an online manifesto, but questions remain as to whether these elite hackers will be able to bypass the intense security measures of the more prestigious institutions on their target list.
I feel like calling the collective”elite hackers” is showing a bit of bias which is irresponsible to journalism this is fairly remedial stuff and as far as actual coding none is involved. There is no elitism about it and kind of a word that makes any anon member a bit noxious no?????? It’s more like a bunch of kids with a can of spray paint writing out one big message “we know what your doing and we aren’t gonna take it anymore”. Elite hacking…..far cry, creative vandalism indefinitely.
its great that anon are trying to do something about the RMK fed banking scheme, but i fail to see how a DDoS can effect any significant change other than the beefing up of their security. a denial of service is but a short term or acute denial to further what are probably already guaranteed ‘sales’. it certainly isn’t garnishing much mainstream attention or bringing the conversation into the laymen’s household either. it is my opinion that a better strategy is required. my vote, as always, is the forced transparency. why not use these computer skills to dig up all the dirty info and link them to the individuals contributing the erosion of our freedoms, the illegal political funding, the ponsy schemes, insider trading, market rigging, collusion and price fixing etc. by publicizing their deeds, records, names and addresses, the individuals acting on behalf of the pseudo life machine known as corporate personhood, would become more less likely to continue their participation in these evils. as their numbers dwindle, so must the power of the machine. only once the enslavers have been de-fanged, can one dissolve the corporations/banks/governments. but i must admit that there is likely a level to anons plan than i can’t possibly understand as a non coding layman.
You’re right. You can’t understand as a non coding layman. These are just aspects of a much greater strategy. For example, tomorrow night we will launch a dark- hidden satellite into space (very sneeky: nobody must see it) so we can spy on Hillary while she’s under the shower. Then we will take pictures of that (with a super scope) and send them into space.
The reason? If aliens see that ugly body they’ll think she’s something really scary and they will come over and kill her. Maybe they kill Trump too. But that: we don’t know. Thats up to them.
See? We are doing some real important stuff here too. Don’t critisize us. We are working on it.
Yours truly,
Anononymous.
And Goldman Sachs ?? Please try this to this criminals ….
