The United States launched another series of airstrikes against ISIS targets last Tuesday, located within the borders of Libya. This series of attacks also proves the expansion of U.S. military operations, far exceeding beyond Iraq and Syria. And who would be the first, and should be mentioned – only ones – to possess this exclusive information? Why, NBC News, of course. In fact, NBC News apparently happens to be the only company in the entire world that holds the exclusive access to the ISIS “Heat Map.” Provided by the NCTC (National Counterterrorist Center), this so called Heat Map provides information about the global expansion of ISIS and how the terrorist group is rising.
While this map is a section of a classified briefing document received by the United States White House, it has been dated with “August 2016” as the time it was prepared by the National Counterterrorist Center. This amazing map represents a tri-fold increase of the number of ISIS branches that are taking hold across the international theatre – which are known ISIS operations being carried out.
According to the U.S. State Department, the documents show us that in 2014 – which coincides with the U.S. military dawning their extremist-termination campaign – that ISIS was operating out of seven different nations. Looking into the updated heat map, the 2016 reports are slightly above that seven-nation marker. We can also clearly see that the ISIS terrorist group is indeed, growing. Their steady aim to hostage the world is slowly, but surely, increasing as time moves on.
However, in 2015 the U.S. State Department’s own numbers indicated that there was nearly double that. Simply put: In 2015, ISIS had spilled over into 13 different nations.
In this updated 2016 map report, ISIS is now in 18 different countries, proving that ISIS is fully operational. The scary aspect of the map does not come from exposing ISIS’ new countries of expansion, but instead displays the “Aspiring Branches.” The Aspiring Branches list includes a further six countries, meaning that in Egypt, Indonesia, Mali, the Philippines, Somalia and Bangladesh, ISIS is starting to take root.
Malcolm Nance, an NBC News terrorism analyst, states that the U.S. is successful insofar as their attempts at attacking ISIS at their core inside Iraq and Syria. However, as he had “obtained” this new ISIS heat map, he says that they “could probably be a lot bigger if they were to show all the aspirational regions where ISIS wants to operate and has carried out terrorist attacks.” Malcolm continues, adding that “It’s fair to say that the whole battle space is expanding for ISIS.”
However, investigating this heat-map and NBC News, and according to several other articles that have published similar pieces – and as stated above, NBC News themselves – claims that this map comes from the NCTC.
Keep in mind, whenever grabber, nikto, or even uniscan was used to search through NCTC, FBI, CIA, Secret Service, and of course NBC News, any trace of this heat map simply does not exist. This leads me into thinking one of two things are happening here:
1) NBC News has created a false report in order to gain more viewers.
2) NBC News, as well as government agencies, are in contract with each other in order to share private information.
Is it likely that propaganda has been perpetuated to feed the U.S. military justification for a War on Terror? Decades of coup’s and wars by proxy are testament to it – not that I am saying this is the case…just maybe. Just look at the airstrikes this week.
Or, it could be option 2. Out of all of the media outlets that the government can choose for releasing this heat map, why would they only release this information specifically to NBC News? Is it for the bigger ratings? More followers? More susceptible audience? The NBC News states that they have an exclusive heat map that displays this information; such information that should be made available to anyone concerned about this topic and to any and all media outlets?
Either/or options raise several questions for the general public. Both options are equally concerning.
