Billionaires become lawmakers

Soon, American citizens will line up to select their political leaders. For the ordinary American, the hope is that those who will be elected will represent the supreme interests of the country’s citizens, in whom hands the sovereignty of the nation reside permanently.

No power is greater than the power of the people. It is people who make up a nation. Without people, there will be no nation.

But just ask the average American whether the power of the people is really working in the country, and chances are the answer will be negative. The American public perception about their elected representatives (politicians) is deteriorating day by day.

Because this year is an election year in the United States, some social research organizations tested the waters to find out whether Americans believe their elected leaders really represent their interests.

A national study conducted in May 2016, by Marketplace and Edison, revealed how almost three-quarters of the population of the United States (71%) believe that their country’s economy is rigged to favor the few super-rich in the country. Also, on the political system of the country, respondents revealed that the current political climate is nothing to write home about. 75% said they are “dissatisfied” or “angry” with elected political officials in Washington, from the president, to those in the two law making houses of the country. In fact, the study produced a grim portrait of economic and political anxiety that is crossing social boundaries in the United States.

In June, another poll conducted by the Associated Press news agency, in collaboration with the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, also revealed that a staggering 70% of Americans are disturbed about the country’s presidential elections, due in November.

These studies prove that many Americans have woken to the realities of the political and economic systems of the country. From these studies, we clearly see the empirical evidence to support the claim that citizens really believe their political and economic systems are broken beyond redemption.

But why are the political and economic systems of the United States broken? Why can’t elected leaders of the country make decisions by themselves? Why can’t the leaders champion the interest of citizens they claim to represent? All these questions are addressed in the video below. In the video, you will learn how the rich have now become the lawmakers (politicians). You will learn how the rich hide behind politicians, directing them to make laws in order to exploit the masses.

Let’s just use Hillary Clinton as a typical example here. On August 1, 2016, we published an article revealing that Clinton, a candidate contesting for the office of the president of the United States, has been relying on donations from hedge fund investors to run her campaign, in order to get to the White House in Washington. As of August 2016, review of the donations by hedge fund owners and employees showed Clinton had received up to a whopping $122.7 million.

Now, read carefully the definition of hedge fund. A hedge fund is an offshore investment fund, typically formed as a private limited partnership that engages in speculation using credit or borrowed capital. It employs complex investment techniques that critics believe corrupt the market system, giving the investors opportunity to exploit the market system to their advantage. Many observers have advised in the past that it is a sector that should be banned from funding the campaigns of politicians, due to the danger that the investors can force upon the politicians they sponsor to pass laws that will favor them when they win power.

We throw a challenge. If you doubt what we have written about hedge funds, you can do your own research and determine by yourself, whether it is a sector that should be allowed to sponsor political campaigns. This is what is gradually killing America. The money in politics. And until citizens rally-up to chase the rich from sponsoring political campaigns, politicians will always do what the rich want them to do.
