While we often underestimate them, children are in fact amazing individuals capable of a number of feats. Their fresh young minds are constantly absorbing information from the world around them, and coupled with their imaginations, we’ve found they have the potential to accomplish nearly anything they put their minds to.
Below are some examples of children with tremendous talent, and though there are many children across the globe who are worthy of recognition, we’ve narrowed our focus down to a handful of future Rock-n-Roll legends that will amaze and inspire you.
Avery Molek
Now 8-years-old, Avery Molek has been playing the drums since he was two, and he loves rock-n-roll. Included among his favorite bands are KISS, Van Halen, RUSH, Metallica, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, Dream Theater, and AC/DC. Below is a video of Avery from when he was six playing along to Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” Move out of the way, Lars Ulrich, in a few more years you’re gonna be eating this kid’s dust.
Nicolas Merritt
Nicolas Merritt was just 18-months-old when he picked up his first set of drumsticks, and by the age of seven, he had released his first album, “Punk Rock Elementary.” Below is a video of Nicolas at 10-years-old, and as you can see, his talent rivals that of many professional drummers. We commend Nicolas for his tremendous talent, and look forward to seeing how this young man’s future plays out.
Li-sa-X
This incredible 10-year-old girl out of Japan can turn even the most skilled guitar players green with envy when one takes her age into consideration. Featured below is Li-sa-X’s cover of the Racer X song, “Scarified,” which later attracted attention from Paul Gilbert himself. Responding to Li-sa-X’s performance with a video, Gilbert has invited her to become a student at his online ArtistWorks guitar school, free of charge. Well done, Li-sa-X, and keep up the excellent work.
Felix de St-Hilaire
Meet Felix de St-Hilaire, the 10-year-old blind boy out of Montreal, Quebec who learned to sing and play the blues by ear. Provided below is a performance by St-Hilaire at the Quebec Foundation for the Blind summer camp where he sings B.B. King’s classic song, “Every Day I have the Blues.” The video went viral shortly after it was posted to Facebook in August of 2014, and has since received over 500,000 likes. Let’s see if we can boost that number as this amazing young man is more than deserving of the recognition.
Aaralyn and Izzy O’Neil
Sibling duo, Aaralyn and Izzy O’Neil, are two amazing kids with huge potential. Forming the band Murp, they attracted national attention after their performance of the song, “Zombie Skin” on the series ‘America’s Got Talent’. Many Americans watched in disappointment as the kids were eventually eliminated from the show, however they have continued to create music, and have since developed a steady fan base. Watch below as they astound the audience, the judges, and American viewers everywhere.
Christone “KingFish” Ingram
And finally we present Christone “KingFish” Ingram, an unbelievable 16-year-old young man out of the Mississippi Delta. At the age of six, Kingfish began playing the drums, and three years later, he started playing the bass guitar as well. At the age of eleven he picked up the lead guitar, and by the time he was fourteen, he had mastered all three. This phenomenal young man is the perfect example of a modern day musical genius, easily comparable in that sense to artists such as Mozart.
Anonymous would like to extend a congratulations to all of these tremendously talented children, as well the many other children around the world who display extraordinary talents.
