Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man who once delivered the line ‘you hit like a vegetarian,’ is promoting a plant-based diet for health and environmental reasons.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man who once delivered the line ‘you hit like a vegetarian,’ is urging people to lessen their consumption of meat. The governor of California, former bodybuilder, and actor recently made headlines when he spoke at the climate change conference in Paris and said:

“Right now people, seven million people are dying every year. That is alarming and everyone in government has the responsibility to protect the people. They have to do something about it.”

According to Schwarzenegger, reducing meat consumption would be the best way to start.

“28% of the greenhouse gasses come from eating meat and from raising cattle, so we can do a much better job.”

What he’s saying is nothing new. In fact, several reports have concluded that a plant-based diet is the best way to reduce carbon emissions and save the planet. Ellie Highwood, professor of climate physics at the University of Reading, told Newsbeat:

“If everyone around the world ate as much as we do in Britain, it would be even worse.”

Arnie speaking out against meat has been a shock to many.

While many are calling him a hypocrite for eating more than his share of beef back in the day as a competitive bodybuilder, he’s now suggesting everyone do their part by having a couple of meat-free days per week. This has prompted many to ask if bodybuilding is possible on a vegetarian diet. Guess what his response was?

“Luckily we know that you can get your protein source from many different ways, you can get it through vegetables if you are a vegetarian. I have seen many body builders that are vegetarian and they get strong and healthy.”

Indeed, the strongest man on Planet Earth is presently Patrik Baboumian, and he is 100% vegan. Validate that here.

Eating a plant-based diet is not only better for one’s health, the animals, and the environment, it’s now easier than ever before. Whether you choose to make your own meals at home or opt to visit a healthy restaurant, the world is catching onto the fact that green and clean is better. What are your thoughts? 1. Making claims like this, “Indeed, the strongest man on Planet Earth is presently Patrik Baboumian, and he is 100% vegan. Validate that here” is what makes people who know, think these articles are crap. World’s strongest man winner was Brian Shaw. And Eddie hall deadlifts nearly 100kg more than your man, so, you claiming he is the strongest man on the planet, is 100% false.

  2. Various scientific disciplines has proven that Humans are OMNIVORES, adapted to be OMNIVORES, not just grass eaters or meat eaters. It doesn’t matter what people think or says to justify what they eat or don’t eat, we are OMNIVORES that’s all!.

    • What’s your point? So we have the choice to continue with a food consumption model that’s destroying our planet, or to change it to one MORE (not entirely) plant-based, in turn saving our health and the world we inhabit for future generations. Nothing in this article, nor the Governator suggested any different.

      • I was not talking about this article, I was talking because I’m tired of reading vegetarians lying about how vegetarian is the human being by nature.

My point is, whatever you choose to do, you have to choose it knowing the truth not lying to yourself and others to convince them to follow your path. The most of the vegetarians I know are complete ignorants talking about biology and anthropology, they say that humans are vegetarians by nature, when science says we are OMNIVORES (not paid studies made by vegetarian interests). If they choose to stop eating meat because of animal rights matters, I’m the first supporting the idea because the animal abuse in the industry is real, but when they say that we have to stop eating meat because we are vegetarians by nature, or when they say that plants can’t feel like animals (every new study proves that statement is completely wrong, plants feel), it’s pure lies!.

About health things I will not talk about it because, I know to ex vegetarians (childhood friends) that after years of being vegetarians, they ended up with some health problems related to some deficiencies. Now they are not entirely vegetarians but they don’t eat to much meat also, but now they are good, so I’m not really sure about the benefits.
