We have seen enough incidents of police violence to start to see patterns clearly emerging. We see that the majority of victims highlighted in the media are black. We see that many times they are met with force not warranted by the situation. As more and more incidents are brought to light, we will continue to see some patterns persist and new patterns emerge. Lately we have seen a handful of truly disturbing incidents of threats and violence towards kids by the men in blue. Is this the start of a new war against America’s children?
The most recent case involves threats made to a four year old girl via her mother’s Facebook page. Lanaydra Williams, who has never had anything to do with the Overland Park Kansas Police Department, received a scary notification from one of their officers. The notification was to a comment left beneath a photo of her four year old daughter. “We’ll see how much her life matters soon. Better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found,” the chilling comment read. The officer was identified as Rodney Lee Wilson. Wilson initially claimed his account was hacked, but an internal affairs investigators didn’t buy it. He was terminated from the department. His reference to the Black Lives Matter movement was an apparent slam recognizable by his choice of words. It is unknown why Wilson would leave this hateful comment on a photo of a complete stranger.
We all remember the out-of-control cop who somersaulted his way through a kids pool party in McKinney Texas. Officer Eric Casebolt was dispatched to a disturbance at the pool of the the Craig Ranch Community. Video of the incident does in fact show a fight among a group of black teenagers which comes to an end upon officers arrival. One officer can be seen reasoning woth people on scene and keeping a cool head. Ofc. Casebolt, however, is amped up from the start. He throws a young black female to the ground and manhandles her without cause. The scene was settling down and he was now the problem. Ofc. Casebolt ended up resigning several days after the video surfaced. No shocker here, but a grand jury failed to indict him an any excessive force related charges.
This war against the meek and helpless is surfacing around the country. Another story from Pennsylvania just last year shows a nearly SWAT attired officer bullying a child on a school bus. A cell phone video shows an officer, who has never been identified, shouting in the face of a scared child in the back of the bus. “Smile in my face one more time and I’ll be dragging your ass off this bus and back to that fucking police car,” the officer screamed. The driver flagged down the officer to handle some unruly kids. The officer had the opportunity to de-escalate the situation but instead decided to flex his muscle to a bunch of children. He received a written reprimand.
A recent case involving a Kissimmee Florida police officer resulted in criminal charges. Ofc. Mario Bada was charged with child abuse after grabbing a thirteen year old by the arm and slamming him to the ground. Other videos have surfaced showing an officer slapping a restrained child in the face multiple times. We all saw the footage of the South Carolina school resource officer slamming the female student while she was seated in her chair. These incidents involving defenseless children are becoming the latest pattern emerging in the police state.
Now is there really a war against kids going on? Of course not. These incidents only go to demonstrate that police don’t care who you are or how old you are. If you defy them you are a potential target even if you are a kid. They don’t see a difference between a hostile adult and a smart ass teenager. They are as quick to use force against an eighty year old man as they would a ten year old girl. It is the job of police to solve problems, not create them. We are seeing more often than not that police only make things worse. How they treat the children of society gives a great incite into greater problems with police and their attitudes toward the general public.

fucking cops, you are there to uphold the law and do what’s right. not be the law and decide what’s right.
Try that with my kid and I’ll pull your head off.
