Not long ago, we reported on the corruption within the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and now new reports are surfacing of yet another drug conspiracy within the department. Two officers out of Covington, Louisiana have been arrested and face drug distribution charges, and more arrests are expected to follow.
Former Deputy with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Johnny Domingue, pled guilty last Friday (March 11) to three drug conspiracy charges and one count of abuse of office. Domingue took a plea deal, and is now “rolling over” on his co-conspirators, according to The Free Thought Project. Also implicated is Deputy Karl Newman who is facing similar charges.
Domingue was caught using his authority as a DEA officer to rob suspects of cash and drugs, and after his arrest he admitted to being part of a massive conspiracy between police and the DEA to acquire the drugs “with the dual purpose of ingesting them and selling them for profit.” During the raid on his house, authorities found 300 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, oxycodone pills, methadone, Xanax, and numerous manila envelopes filled with additional medications. All of this supposedly went unnoticed by Domingue and Newman’s peers.
Also under fire is the leader of the drug task force, the DEA’s “star” agent, Chad Scott (who nick-named himself the “white devil”). The DEA refuses to comment on Scott’s involvement, but according to The Advocate, three law enforcement sources have confirmed that he was stripped of his gun and badge, and suspended from duty. This is the fourth time Scott, who has a mixed reputation as a star agent and crooked cop, has been disciplined at the DEA.
Yet again, the DEA is found guilty of the same crimes they lock people away for on a daily basis. As those at The Free Thought Project put it, it’s State hypocrisy at its worst.
